Post patch, I clear screens full of monster packs, and get 3 cinders. Previously, I could open up 6 Mystery chests on the rare map that had 3 zones and a decent time split over the hour, and today I wasn’t able to open a single chest.
Yesterday I wasn’t sure if Helltides were worth the time investment and they are completely off the list of things to do now. Blizzard made them worth less for the same time investment, and more difficult at the same time. I thought the previous Helltide changes were a step in the right direction, and now these patch changes are backtracking a mile.
welp just did a event in helltide, no shards from mobs that i didn’t kill myself…think about that. and on top of that i save up the 250 shards and at 2 minutes to end use the mystery chest to get a sacred legendary and one ancestral legendary. why would i ever go back to helltide.
Same issue took out a pack of 13 enemies for one cinder. After 15 minutes only accumulated 67 cinders. Helltides are not worth the time investment anymore. Hope it’s a bug that they aren’t dropping, otherwise I’m not touching helltides or will wait for season 2.
I barely made over 100 cinders in 30 minutes of helltide play, or roughly 200/hour. Given these rates, the best one can typically hope for is about 1 mystery chest per helltide. Even the T35-T40 dungeons which can be completed in 10-15 minutes solo have better drop yields given all the rares and crystals.
Bottom Line – Helltides are no longer worth our play time for gear. NM dungeons yield much better gear drops in addition to experience.
