it was a long hot day in California. Got home and thought I would do some monster killing. started with some D runs. got done and the hell tide was up, only 30min left. ok no problem, kill some and get one or two boxes. First where are all the cinders??? killed a big group of monsters and I had 3 cinders. finally after 20 min of fighting I had 175, go to find a box and guess what its now 250 cinders. I got 10 min!!! usually that’s no problem but on the new “D” dropping 2 cinders after 200 monsters killed, fat chance. Anyway, I had to vent. come on 250 cinders for what, maybe 1 or 4 items, most of them you will just sell. I’m disappointed. Come on Diablo, I would pay 250 cinders but give me some good stuff, and don’t lower the cinder drop rate and charge more for the box. boxes that kick down low level garb!! I’m out, maybe I’ll go watch TV

Patch notes clearly say it was upped to 250 cinders required. Not a bug
I didn’t see in the patch notes where the cinder drop rate was severely reduced as well. Perhaps you could point me to where it says that?
“Fixed an issue where enemies resurrected by Shamans would continuously drop Aberrant Cinders in Helltide.” there you go, less cinders in helltides
Rather than double down, just admit you’re wrong. Cinders drop rate OVERALL from ALL mobs have been severely reduced. WAY OVER 50%.

After my thorough testing of collecting 250 cinders in 20 minutes, I can also conclusively say that cinder drop rate has been severely nerfed from all monsters, except the random chance to drop about 5-7. Interactable objects do indeed drop cinders though, so that’s okay I guess.
I felt like the density was increased in hell tide, but that could have been placebo
Not sure about that. Density felt the same to me. But again i dont know…helltide just seems not worth it now.
It’s not worth it, but still required. Now instead of hunting 175 cinders for a chest, we’ll be using party abuse tactics on Hellish ore to collect souls
And then blizzard will nerf it again…
