Or you don’t understand that diablo is not dark souls. It’s a gear check game. And your build has to function as well.
The spiderboss needs a rework…
Oh boy that spidey was annoying xD
Bosses would have 0 challenge if they didn’t reset when you die.
Stop making stuff up. I want to see you in the fields of hatred with your lvl 1 character proving your point.
I think it’s fun. Makes the game actually have some real gateways that require prep and practice to get through. That said, I haven’t struggled on a single boss fight in this game. The ones in Act 1 are probably the hardest overall because you’re underlevel’d and without a proper build yet. Once you get rolling later in the story, even the more “difficult” and “complex” bosses are easy.
Leveled entirely on world tier 2 btw, so if I can handle all the bosses from level 1 to 50 on WT2, you can handle them on WT1. I believe in you.
Diablo 3 and 4 are gear check games and it’s stupid because it’s not at all how the prior two worked. This is how WoW works.

Player Characters do not scale or I would. It’s actually funny because in Destiny people use to get mad when I would win in the crucible with my level 2 character and Khvostov.

I just think MMO style gear checks are stupid. I like games like Diablo 2 because it was about min-maxing stats to defeat a specific challenge.
We won’t see the same kinds of feats that we see people doing in Diablo 2, such as killing ubers with a level 5 paladin.

like Diablo 2 because it was about min-maxing stats to defeat a specific challenge.
And you can’t do that in D4 to beat your nemesis?
Just beat Nayrelle’s mom with a level 6 character… Tell me more how it’s a skill issue and not a scaling issue.
Btw… pretty sure minimum level is level 5.
This is not an “OP needs to git gud” post and potentially not even an “OP, you’re just using the wrong skills/should have equipped higher level armor” post. It’s definitely NOT an “RNG hates me!” post.
Here is the meat of OP’s complaint:

Neyrelle is a terrible NPC.

remove neyrelle from the fight.

I died because of stupid Neyrelle

I hate Nayrelle. I want her removed from the game.

Because I hate Nayrelle…

Now how do I kill Nayrelle?
Nayrelle and her attacks are NOT RNG - she is AI as are the mobs you are fighting. Her attacks have a cooldown timer, just as yours do. It is NOT RNG if her attack comes off cd when the mob is in a bad place for you. Did you get this unreasonably angry when your companions died in the previous Diablo games?
Secondly, OP complains that they tried the fight at level 21, with level 10 & lower gear. OP also states the reason for this is that they only killed overland mobs, a few elite packs and a couple of dungeons/caves but no story quests. Sorry but this is IMPOSSIBLE. The only way to get access to dungeons, overworld mobs, caves and elite packs (I’m going to assume they are talking about the random events as I’ve not seen any elite packs just randomly walking about on the continent, however there ARE a few named mobs), therefore OP DID in fact do some of the story quests. If you were level 21 and wearing level 7-10 gear, that is on YOU. I’ll be heading into Neyrelle tonight at level uhm… Higher than 21, 26 I think. Am I wearing level 7-10 gear? Of course not, that’s why there are dungeons, caves, named mobs and random events! ALL of those drop items that are useful for wearing, selling or deconstructing. My character is completely geared in Rares, some with gems and also has some Aspects attached as well (you get those from dungeons, you can see which you will get if you open the map and mouse over the dungeon). Do I expect to have trouble with the fight? Not as much as I had during the Server Slam, when my character was lower level & not as well geared and also because I LEARNED THE MECHANICS OF THE FIGHT DURING THAT WEEKEND. In fact, I have done much better on EVERY dungeon boss fight because I learned their mechanics during the Beta weekends & SS weekend.
Here is the other reason for OP’s frustration:

I know to avoid them but I just played recklessly and tried to get the last hit in
You just played recklessly. That is how you ran out of pots before you could kill the boss. That is how you ended up stuck between a wall of fire and a bunch of lighting balls. You expected to just go in and ROFLSTOMP that fight and when it didn’t work out that way, you got frustrated, which made you MORE reckless and paid less attention to what was going on. Then you decided to blame it on the NPC and poor game design, when in fact it was NONE OF those things but simply you not getting what you wanted, which was “Run in, ROFLSTOMP the boss, get phat lootz and go on your merry way”. If you truly had done that fight on all classes during the Beta weekends/SS weekend, you’d have known the only thing you’d get from it was Mother’s Knife so to complain about getting nothing when you should have already known that is silly.
**IF there is an issue with the orbs, then YOU should have reported it as a bug at the time. I’m sure, if there is an issue with the orbs, then other players who have completed the fight would have agreed with you. I do not recall the orbs having weird hitboxes when I did the fight. The issue though, could also be with you - your internet &/or computer might not be able to keep up with all the visuals which would result in you taking damage when on your screen it appeared you were not near whatever hit you.
I think it is a good thing you took some time away from the game. No game is fun if you are getting frustrated with it and trying to stick to it does not remove that frustration but only makes it worse. I hope once your friend catches up to you, that you both have a great time playing and little to no frustration.
Ssooooo, fighting the boss AND dying is fun? Sorry, just read the title…
I actually discovered you can keep Nayrelle out of the fight

Ssooooo, fighting the boss AND dying is fun? Sorry, just misread the title…
FIFY
lol she is easy, wait until you meet the other bosses
They are all easy when you are low level.
I just ignore her LOL. She doesn’t do much damage really and to be honest I didn’t even realize she stunned the mobs. I just noticed that she ran all over the platform chasing them & I was like, “Ok, you go girl! I’mma stand RIGHT HERE and hit them when they come by, screw all that running around stuff!”
Yah, I wouldn’t have noticed her but she did something detrimental to my gameplay. Plus, I just cannot stand her. I cannot stand her character. I feel bad for whoever voiced her. It feels like another JarJar Binks… Maybe not that bad.
Oh and I think I know the fight you were talking about with the Ice things. I died twice on that boss, because it’s back was to me on the screen. It put one of those things under my character and I couldn’t see it. I thought, “Well I’ll just look for that circle next time” but it turned out I couldn’t really see THAT either, so the 3rd time I made sure that my character stayed in front of the boss on my screen & had no trouble.
I agree. Just lost twice to a Boss, both with literally a sliver at the end left, and it is very demotivating.
Reminds me of games from the nineties before devs realised the aim was fun, not chasing your players away.
If you think this fight was hard, honestly just stop now. This is as easy as it gets and it only ramps up from there. A fight towards the end of the game is ~14 minutes long, you have to constant dodge multiple things, and the arena floor gets broken shrinking the available space while increasing the amount of things you have to dodge lol
Just beat the entire act 1 at level 7… please tell me more…
