I am on the throne of liberty game ready drivers for NVidia, i see that there are new game ready drivers 566.03.
have these drivers fixed the crashes?
I was crashing upwards several dozen times and I ended up reverting back to nvidia driver 561.09 about a day and a half ago and have since experienced not one single crash.
Still going strong!
No, because the issue is with the game, not with the hardware or drivers. This is proven to be true by those who have extended their play time before crashing by setting a large pagefile. This confirms a for sure memory leak from the game application itself. Meaning, Blizzard has to stop using AI for all their “development”, stop being lazy, and actually do the work.
I had the same question and looked over in their forums.

I have not installed it yet…
But I also did not need to uninstall the previous driver to get the crashing to be less frequent. Maybe Blizz fixed something…maybe it is RNG.
ok after installing:
Check your 3D settings in nVidia control panel, last time they wiped the global settings this time they overwrote any game specific settings you may have had and set everything to “Use Global Settings”.
Umm… you can say that but once I reverted my driver back to 561.09 I have had no more crashes.
And this was suggested by several people who had done the same with same results.
And, a couple of people I have suggested it to have also no longer had crashes.
So, I really do not understand where you are coming from but to say it’s not working is to spread misinformation.
damn dude slow down with that it’s disgusting.
Game is unstable, GPU driver does not have to be the culprit. Since expansion game melts CPU. People also mention RAM leaks.
Wooow. Dude… it’s a verified fix. What is your malfuntion?
You want to go ahead and spew your hate? Be my guest.
But I was crashing upwards several dozen times after they patched evade.
Several people suggested reverting to 561.09
AND IT WORKED. How is that hard to understand?
I then passed on the suggestion on these forums to HELP people… AND IT WORKED.
So, once again… what is your damage with this?
Edit: Imagine whining about something that can possibly help people. Nuts.
Show me where it’s verified.
What can be verified is the constant increase in VRAM usage over time, until it begins spilling out over into Pagefile, until eventually it either crashes the game or the entire system. That much has for sure been proven.
Holy smokes!
Is reading not your thing?
It has worked for several people who suggested it to me. It worked for me. I then passed it on to several people on the forums and they reported it has worked for them.
Man… you just want to hate. You don’t even care about what is being said. You JUST want to hate.
Ridiculous.
So then, so far it is simply a placebo that people are assuming alleviated an issue, simply because they have yet to start crashing again. Which proves entirely nothing until it is “verified” as having addressed the root issue, which is most profoundly the memory leak.
I am editing this because I was exasperated and reacted poorly.
You do you bro.
No one is hating. You just don’t seem to grasp the actual technical side of this. There is for absolute certain a memory leak with this game. That is easily able to be proven. That HAS been proven. And it has absolutely nothing to do with the driver. It has nothing to do with being on AMD or Nvidia, Intel or AMD. It is a profound issue with the game itself.
I tested your theory btw. Rolled back my driver despite knowing better. Crashed within the time we’ve been debating over whether it is a “verified” fix or not.
It is not.
Ok… np.
I find that very hard to believe but sucks that it did not work for YOU.
I guess there could be no other possible explanation?
You can keep confidently saying that reverting does not work… regardless of those who it magically seems to work for.
566.03 works great for me.
Different hardware, software installed, settings…
There’s no 1 solution that works for all.
But one advice, make sure to always update your GPU driver with DDU.
There is a memory leak on VRAM and driver versions from the 565 series and higher have a bigger problem with it than old ones. This doesn’t mean that the older ones are 100% stable - no! - they just handle Blizzard’s mess better. Please remember that the 565 series is a completely new series nVidia drivers with a rebuilt code compared to the previous series.
I went back to 560.81 and thank god i did. The new drivers where absolute crap. I haven’t crashed once since i went back
I agree I have been watching the memory usage with Diablo 4 for the past hour and a half or so and it seems very stable so far. Either that or Blizz plugged their hole.
I am glad to be at a point where I can play it now without technical issue. Hope others get it fixed also.
i just noticed every game in my nvcp 3d settings is using global settings . games just dont feel good anymore. how can i fix this ? roll back ? ddu ?
why isnt this mentioned anywhere else.
It’s annoying, my OW2 one I set years ago to be be the best settings ever.
I honestly don’t know if there is a way to roll that back…I will ask around
