I used to play Ice Sorceress but seems like the Ice Shades damage not so good, I’m playing Lighting now, should I switch to Fire Sorceress ? this is my first time playing Sorceress
If you want a class where options exist play Rogue….Sorc is busted.
I’ve been playing chain lightning and it’s enjoyable, single target a bit slow, especially if you don’t have unstable currents up, but the clear is nice
Arc Lash still works, and variants of it. The leveling process on Sorc is still smooth, you won’t run into any of the nerfs in a major way until you get to around the point that you start considering Tier4. Chain Lightning damage falls off pretty quickly, much quicker than pre-season.
Fire is where it’s at now. Sticking to sorc isn’t a terrible idea, as it is getting buffed soon. However, as it stands now, it’s mediocre. Good luck, I’ve personally rerolled rogue for S1.
I can tell you that the animation for holding down arc lash makes you look like a dandy fop skipping down the sidewalk singing I’m a pretty boy. On top of that you will likely be wearing a dress and a veil considering you have no transmogs. So I recommend you rolling a girl.
Other than that, it was AOE 1 shoting mobs while the pyromancer I tried went OOom after getting a single mob to half health.
Played Chain from level 1 to 53, and I’m respeccing to Ice Shards.
The dmg just isn’t there.
If you want a smoother CL experience I suggest using spark instead of Arc Lash, but your dmg will be slightly worse. But at least you won’t have to be in melee range to build mana, AND you will build mana faster so you can CL more often.
K noticed the same thing
I’m currently 62 playing Chain Lightning. I don’t know if it is good, but if you like the play style, it is one of the fastest builds to get to 100. Just make sure you are using Overflowing Energy Key passive and not Vyr’s Mastery. It’s the low cooldown teleports that makes it fast. It had some issues with Super High density packs in Season 0, but the new hearts completely remove those issues.
It for sure can do a Tier 100 Nightmare Dungeon this season. There is a video of a Chain Lightning Sorc doing a Tier 69 the day of the nerfs (Season 0 tier 70 is equal to a season 1 tier 100). Also, if they fix the bugs with the Omnipower heart, I’d say Chain Lightning will be able to do Uber Lilith (legit work, no cheese).
Who said this to you? I tried 95 key yestreday with my CL sorc and its kinda impossible even with nerfes.
Do not forget, they also nerfed armor and damage reduction.
Was funny there was a big guy who casts waves, which is 1-shot me even with barrier. So the final try i tpout from him while he is casting, but suddenly after cast he tp to me too and animation of waves starts not from the place he cast, but from him close to me.
Of course i died and ruined the key.
So yeah, there was a huge nerfes to NM dungeons to druids and rogues haha, but sorc still glass without canon.
You’ve just explained your experience with no context and used it as proof that stuff is hard. How do we know you’re not just bad?
You’re either extremely underleveled and undergeared on the seasonal realm, or you’re on the eternal realm. If you’re on the eternal realm, no one cares.
Edit:
Link to a post with a known good Lightning Sorc:
Playing an Incinerate build because I hate my life. But blizzard said they’re gonna buff the Sorc, hopefully that means improving Incinerate and Fireball cus they are under performing just like a lot of their other abilities.
If you want to brag about how strong you are, go copy whatever has the most power. If you want to just play a build that you created, and enjoy the mechanics, play it as far as it will go and forget about the FOMO.
Higher power gets higher damage and life enemies, that drop higher power items, so you can handle higher power enemies…
The cycle never ends, just play at a difficulty that is fun for your build.
Lightining is fun I love it
Keep in mind, you’ll want high crit rate and lucky hit
Dont be afraid to reroll all your yellows at least once, when you level up , crit is kinda easy to find usually , on gloves / rings / offhand
Yeah, nerfs of NM dungeons was on the season realm only yeah? yeah?
Dont you see i am talking about 95 key? I farm 50-60 also without problems with my CL sorc, but everything above 80 is just a pain and death.
I cannot complete any 90 without looking for a really good keys affixes without bowmans and ghosts and other guys who instakill me, but you are talking about 100.
I just can say good luck, dont be disappointed in the end.
I don’t think you understand the difference between something affecting the eternal realm, and people CARING that it affected the eternal realm.
The title of this thread is “Guys, is Lightning Sorceress good in Season 1?”
And sure, if people are looking at lightning sorcs because they want to do big numbers and want to play the top build. Lightning Sorc isn’t that. Those people will be disappointed.
But if people like Lightning Sorcs as a playstyle, and they’re wondering if they can beat the game in Season 1 with it? The answer looks like a yes, game will be beatable on a Lightning Sorc.
Lightning Sorc was never bad comparing to other sorcs. Still worse then Ice shard one or cannot clear NM 100 like Hydra build.
I cannot discuss S1 as i am not going to play this crap season at all, but from my current experience i can be sure that CL sorc are not able to clear NM 100 even after all nerfs.
I just hope some guys will show me the new meta and sorc will be a really good class someday.
Good thing your experience, as an Eternal Realm player, is irrelevant to the meta of Lightning Sorcs.
Thanks for the well wishes. Too bad you won’t be able to be happy with us when it happens because it will happen in the ‘crap’ season.
BL or CL builds before patch(the nerf before seasons) near bis could push 80+, but it was rough. Hoping some of the hearts + recent changes might alleviate it, but I imagine they should still be near 70-80 at high end, with the top players pushing it still.
If you’re willing to walk it and wait a lot of builds can do t100, just zero fun
It’s gear dependent and paragon dependent, but the damage is definitely there. Happy to talk to you about it if you’re curious.
