Hi,
Lately I’m experiencing that I turn on the game and I’m at ± 9-10GB RAM in the course of 1-2h I get to 15-16GB. Above 16, D4 is dropping to out of memory.
Has anyone ever encountered this or does anyone have an idea how to fix it?
Thank you for your help.
Quite common. You need to set a static swap file. Use this link for instructions:
-Diablo IV has run out of memory - #103 by DTMAce-1687
However use the size of 32768 for both Min and Max instead of what is suggested.
That should address it. But this season has caused the game to use even more VM space than before, I have been monitoring it closely.
Thank you. I’ll try. One more question if I can get to you. Do you know why my D4 is not taking any GPU?
What kind of GPU do you have? Can you elaborate on the problem?
MSI RTX 3070 GAMING Z TRIO LHR 8GB GDDR6 SDRAM.
When I’m playing D4 and I turn on the task manager. Even the GPU temperature doesn’t go up ± 40 degrees after an hour of playing. It shows 0% even if I have focus on D4 and play.
Okay.
Then you can try this:
-
Make sure you are not in the game.
-
Open the Documents\Diablo IV folder
-
Find the LocalPrefs file, rename the file to .old or just delete it.
When you launch the game again, it will go through first time graphic setup. See if that fixes this issue first.
If not, we can try something else.
I tried and the result is still the same but thank you for your help
Are you sure Windows is set to use your GPU for specific games/apps?
In the link below scroll down the page a bit to the Win10 or Win11 instructions.

Next, double check your NVIDIA Control Panel app is set to your GPU in a couple sections:
Manage 3D Settings:
OpenGL rendering GPU > important if you have multiple GPU’s (integrated graphics)
The next one is up for debate but worth trying/setting:
Configure Surround, PhysX > your dedicated GPU
I would be curious to see what their Fenris log shows.
The same faces as in my post and they write the same crap.
And Blizzard is neither seen nor heard.
You being upset and throwing mud at those of us trying to help isn’t good either. Breathe. Its a game, not life support.
Only so much we can help with after all.
This is exactly the wrong way of thinking. Blizzard doesn’t lift a finger and you think you’re alone. Or you’re hired by the company to prolong the topic and problem. You pretend to help poor people and pretend to be helpful, but in the end you’re just telling everyone the same crap like a prayer.
Can you get off my topic? Thank you :))
Yeah sure. Be a victim of your own naivety.
