Glyph leveling needs multiple ways

Multiple ways to level glyphs would be nice. It’s almost impossible for non op class to level glyphs to 60+

I was just thinking about this last night. I didn’t finish last season and, somehow, didn’t realize NMD’s don’t level glyphs anymore. I was so annoyed. I don’t want to solely run the Pit over and over for it. Give us at least the NMD back, or something else, or both.

100% Agree

One nice thing for this season with the escalating dungeons was that it provided a different source than Infernal Hordes for obducite. I quickly grew tired of Hordes, at one point I was literally falling asleep during them. It is just an FX screen vomit of mindless thrashing effects and nothing else.

But the Glyphs, *#&$ Blizzard for ever tying them to Pit. I can kind of understand having the Pit as a gateway to the tiers, but to be forced into mindlessly running these over and over to level over and over just makes the game awful. It removes motivation to create new characters, it makes the restart of a season more horrible.

I beieve the point your making is you want balance.

You can still get non-meta into pit 80+ but it is a higher gear/build check. I think we all want balance.

Agreed. Of all the things I could pick to complain about, Infernal Hordes would be at the top. I don’t entirely know why, although your description sounds very fitting, but I’ve never enjoyed Hordes. Even with my spin to win Rogue where I can just mindlessly go in circles and barely pay attention (barely cause I’m hardcore and do have to somewhat) it’s just mind-numbingly boring.

They brought back Nephalem Rifts with the Pit and decided, ooo let’s do that twice, but EVERYTHING happens in one room until the very end!

I totally agree with this as well.

Pretty sure the point he’s making is he wants multiple ways to level Glyphs.

I agree, I suggested something similiar myself here:

it would be great if they added a helltide cinder station where you could turn in cinders to upgrade glyphs… I’m a helltide junkie, i like playing in helltides

It doesnt solve the core issue thats plauged the game since day 1. Joe S went on about how great D3 seasons were and spoke about meta flavor of the month.

Blizzard needs something to compete with pit XP. Give me a slider that I can jack things up equivalent to my highest solo pit competition.

For the most part glyph leveling is only important upto 46, after that increases are marginal. Thete is also the armory, make a pit pushing build. Many options one can take.

Not sure why all content does not reward Glyph XP, even if it is a slower rate than Pit Pushing. Having to doing content circles forces players to partake in certain types of content rather than letting players decide…

That’s a cool list of your thoughts and wants, Lazyloaf. That all sounds like neat stuff.

That’s not what the OP wants, though. Tthe OP just wants multiple ways to level glyphs besides the Pit. I would concur.

I dont disagree but it doesnt solve the core issue OP is bringing up which is balance.

^ Agreed!

Multiple ways to get anything and everything would be nice!

I do not find this to be a balance issue, even though the OP slightly alluded to that as their basis for reasoning.

Instead I find it to be an enjoyment issue.

I get bored doing nothing but Pits to level my Glyphs.

Absolutely. I wish they hadnt moved to chance-based upgrades.

Because this design feels like a dead end for the glyph leveling system. Making it work outside the unengaging Pit is difficult. On the other hand, experience points can easily be scaled to appropriate values for every kind of content and torment tier.

For example, I would like to have a glyph pillar appear when a world boss dies so the event is somewhat more rewarding. But when thinking about how to distribute the upgrade chances between players it becomes complicated.

but bro if they allow glyph to be leveled somewhere else in the game, then that would be less content, because more grind = more content, the longer it takes to do it, the more content there is in the game!

Either that or fix the way leveling itself works (I actually don’t mind that the Pit is the place to do it, I hate the way it’s done)

  • Cleared 50 ?, gimme 50, don’t “increment” my stuff 2-3 levels at a time. Or as mentioned before better yet - give pre-leveled Glyphs at pit-cleared level with one extra random affix rolled on them (so that way repeating a level makes some sense)

Like, don’t waste people’s time, fix the actual thing so that when people play the Pit they know why they’re doing it. Not some kind of a “slow walk” of a secondary nature/progress with no customization what-so-ever

More grind does not equal more content.

More grind in this game is becoming an excuse for the implementation of less content.

Grinding is the process of repeating previously completed content in order to unlock the items or requirements needed to access uncompleted content thus why it is called grinding.

Excessively extending that process without the addition of any new content is pure laziness and greed on behalf of the company producing such a product.

If grinding is what you consider content then feel free to grind away and vendor anything you pick up in order to extend your grind.

I totally agree.
I find the pit utterly boring.
NMD’s would be a nice alternative.
Infernal horses are worse than the pit lol so that would not be my favorite route.

Everyone plays a different game due to the gaps being so big between broken and non-broken. Which is why that needs addressing first and foremost.

I have suggested slotted glyphs leveling like experience or from other activities at a lesser degree so pit can stay relevant…but they don’t seem to be keen on doing that at all.
