Genuine question: why is Blizzard deleting unoffensive posts?

I had two posts deleted because they mocked the Campfire chat and Patch notes, why is this a sensible topic to be deleted?

I genuinely want to understand it as it’s going completely above my head so far.

Why is a huge game developing company going out of its way to delete meanigless jokes?

because they most likely broke a rule. just like your thread.

Don’t post about locked or deleted threads.

There’s always a reason behind our moderators’ decisions. It’s up to you to read our forum Code of Conduct and these guidelines to determine what you did wrong, learn from your mistake, and attempt to post again without breaking any rules.

genuine question, is it this hard to stick to the rules OP?

So you want to mock a campfire and patch notes without anything constructive and expect it to stay up on the forums? You do realize this is a forum run by Blizzard right? I feel you may be in the wrong place.

In general I’d say, any effort of being more constructive than purely negative will be getting you further on these forums.
I read your jokes and chuckled, but yeah, it’s the kind of thing I believe they see as purely “tearing things down”.
I’m sure, if you wrote down, what improvements you’d like to see or just what you don’t really like and why it wouldn’t be removed. (Except if you added inflammatory stuff to that ofc).

I don’t wanna discuss the pros and cons of this way of handling things, just saying that’s what I see happening and it’s their forum, not a publicly owned one, so it’s less about democracy and more about us behaving like polite guests. Well…“polite”…I’ve seen them let things slide that are as far off any politeness as broccoli becoming a mass favorite superbowl snack, but yeah…as a rule of thumb, I guess that’s how it could be summarized.

Yeah, but never a good one.

doesnt matter. A reason doesnt need to be good. Its a privately owned forums.

accept that, or leave. easy as that.

Bingo. The moment you begin to attack the developers or the company is when things go south, and posts are removed. That doesn’t mean you can’t say your piece about what you didn’t like, just don’t involve them in it. If people want more freedom though, there’s plenty of other social media outlets.

exactly. heck, the other day i even actively suggested to someone to wait for a VoH sale, as the guy is considering getting it now. So, infact i was actively trying to cut blizzards profit. Guess what. stuff didnt get removed.

Behave like an adult, and you are good.

No U leave. I love your childish banter.

Just like my review, which still hasn’t been taken down. I’m rather critical in that review too.

The irony in this. This makes my day.

wont happen my friend. I just listed the possible options for you, if you dont like whats happening on the forum.

alternatively you can stay i guess, and be miserable

you always have been rather critical if we are being honest. You for sure have a lot more to criticize than i do, since back in s0 lol.

Thanks for a pretty sensible and comprehensive reply

Damn. It never hurts to ask.

The best “mock” I have seen in weeks from the forum Iggi.

Diablo IV Vessel of Hatred Ultimate Class Tier List (Parody)

see? even that didnt get taken down, since even tho it has a troll taste to it, its polite lol.

Probably because some people flagged your post and it was auto deleted. Or an overworked moderator took a quick look and didn’t see it was humor and just deleted it. Happens.

To my credit I make fun of the Tier lists people come out with more so than anything else. D4 just happened to be the catalyst, I don’t say anything about the developers though.

There should be an exception for genuinely funny stuff, these could some of the most constructive forms of criticism.

Yeah, pure hate speech and negativism can be moderated. But genuine funny jokes are acutally something that tend to improve people’s attitude, even if it’s a joke about how bad a part or an update of the game is.

It’s not just one side making the joke that’s bad, it’s a lot about how you can take a joke too. And if you are the huge individual (game owner) in the joke you shouldn’t be acting like Stalin. At least that’s how 100% of the non-dictatorships think.
