I didn’t see the jokes you made, so I can’t say one way or the other if they were in good or poor taste and/or if they attacked the developers. Urza makes joke threads all the time with patch notes that make fun of the game, usually those are left alone.
well, jokes are tolerated, tho it also depends on the frequenzy. Ill take @Urza as an example here. He for sure had phases where i personally think he overdid it with his song texts, patch notes etc etc. (no offense urza ) - Thus stuff got taken down.
Either way, your thread still is against the CoC
Trying to decide if this video is good or GREAT. It kind of hinges on this question for me:
At the end it cut out at “Last but not least we have the Sor…” /CUT Did I get a bad link or is that the intended artistic statement?
If the latter, then Masterpiece.
It definitely shouldn’t cut out at that part, but that would be hilarious. If I just had a horrible cut for a good 5 seconds, then said ‘just kidding’. Let me check.
Edit: Yea video is only 4 minutes long, Sorc starts roughly at the 3 minute 20s mark, and continues until the end.
ahh well good is still good ill have to find the rest of it
Did you open it up in a separate window instead of playing it through the forums?
the first time no but i went back and opened it on youtube and got the whole vid to play.
You answered you’re own question. Mocking and trolling go hand in hand.
yeppers
(Mocking === Feedback) -> stdOut: FALSE
(Mocking == Feedback) -> stdOut: FALSE
(Mocking == Trolling) -> stdOut: TRUE
(Mocking === Trolling) -> stdOut: FALSE
Edit: English translation Mocking can be but isn’t always trolling, it is never feedback
This is a cult, and in a cult you must obey the rules of the cult leader. If not then it’s better to just p.iss off, or face the consequences.
Posts and threads can’t be auto-deleted. Deletion requires manual moderation. Closure also requires manual moderation. Same with delisting. The only automation the forum software uses is “hiding” a post with a warning that the community has flagged its content, but in that case you’re able to view the post by clicking on that notification link in the post. Basically, if any manual moderation took place, you overstepped your bounds. Try to learn from it and at least attempt to not repeat the same mistake(s), or at the very least, not spam the forum to death with the same message.
As to why this thread is still up, it’s possible that either Lyricana (the one whom closed the previous thread(s)) is doing something else, or she’s trying to let the players help the OP learn something. I kind of hope it’s the latter, since it’s better for the players to try and help someone learn what went wrong (as best they can without the alleged offending source to look at) than it is to just repeatedly have your posts and threads removed. Like her avatar, I’ve seen Lyricana’s generosity equal her moderation, so who knows.
Either way, it would be best if the OP tries to take what the others here are saying to heart and learn from this and in this instance, let it go.
If enough people flag it, it gets deleted. That’s the real truth of the matter
The forum software does not have that enabled. The most flags can do is grey out a post, that you can still click to read, pending Mod review. If a post is removed, thread deleted, or a poster suspended then a Mod did it - the human kind.
Generally speaking the Mods don’t spend time hanging out on each forum. They handle reports for ALL Blizzard forums so context can be missed.
Constructive criticism is great and there is tons of criticism on the forums that does not get removed. As others said, be polite, don’t make it personal, don’t attack or insult individuals, etc. Also don’t spam and don’t post about locked or deleted threads. This one is going to get removed when the Mods get around to it.
Untrue. Completely untrue. The max number of flags it takes to “hide” a post (still can be clicked and read) and cause it to go grey is between 3 and 5. Nobody else can flag it after that. It just sits there waiting for mod review.
No matter how many flags a post has, it isn’t auto-deleted. Again, that requires manual intervention by a moderator.
Ok? They see it has alot of flags and the remove the post per ms cheetah, they don’t look into the post that intently… So it for sure happens
Again, I would not call 3-5 flags a “lot”. That is all it can get. The Mods don’t just auto delete it though because it is flagged. They remove flags all the time and restore the post. Some people use flags to “disagree” hence why they don’t just remove flagged posts without review.
Not that they can’t make a mistake, or that they might miss the context of a post. I got a suspension one day when the mod meant to remove the flag and instead sent me on vacation! It got fixed, but yeah, mistakes can happen. The OP in this case sounds like they were crossing over into trolling though which is not really constructive.
it has been some time since the last misscheetah conspiracy
I’ve had it happen to me for comparing a d4 season to a d2 one, literally the post was just that nothing else, no bad mouthing the devs or anything, it was removed within hours. Guess it would help if the removed post msg gave you a reason, would prevent those “mistakes”
Mocking patch notes that arnt even out yet deserves to be deleted
Because they are man childs who are now freaking out that Microsoft is going to can them.
No criticism allowed. Only glowing worship.
There are only a handful of employees for D4 who haven’t either been reassigned, contract terminated, or just sent home permanently. Microsoft has already been doing layoffs and 3% of the entire Activision Blizzard King workforce is gone.
