Hello. Game has been running with high fps (constant 110+) on max settings 1440p and ultra quality textures, but it is randomly stuttering and that is ruining the experience a bit. The weird thing is it wasn’t stuttering that badly on the beta. My rig is: RX 6700 XT (12GB VRAM), Ryzen 7 5700X, 32 GB RAM (3600 Mhz). I believe the game shouldn’t stutter if it manages to run with 100+ fps. I noticed that it is almost constantly using around 100% VRAM. Lowering the textures quality from Ultra to High have removed the stuttering. So my question is - is it normal to have stuttering on ultra with this configuration on 1440p and am I supposed to just play with high textures as the game automatically sets? Thanks in advance!
100% the same issue even with a 5900x and 4090! but on my 6800 with a 12600k no issues!
Please head over to the main thread for stuttering (the thread got buried over the past 12 hrs). There are several fixes that the community has found for this issue.
Additionally, review your main Diablo IV install folder for a file named “FenrisDebug.txt”. If you’ve got a ton of ‘[Game] RefreshAudioDevices’ entries at the same intervals as your stuttering, then you have the issue that the majority of us were experiencing.
For me personally, switching network profiles worked. Go into Network Status > Properties > Network Profile: ‘Public’ - Your PC is hidden from other devices on the network and can’t be used for printer and file sharing.
There are various theories as to why this works within that thread. Can’t guarantee that this will fix your issue, but it’s worth a shot… worked for me and several others.
Good Luck!
I have the exact same problem described by others in this thread. I’m playing with everything ultra maxed out and after 20min-30min of gameplay the game constantly stutters every other 5s-10s. I almost bet that this is a game bug streaming ultra textures to memory in the background. Check my linked thread where I show this problem happening in a capture with low ping (so no, this isn’t a network latency problem).
