PS5 user here. No crashing, but plenty of rubberbanding and things taking forever to click on. Donāt get me started on when Iām fighting mobs.
So I think itās processor related. I tried a ton of things short of reinstalling the game because I read others had tried that with no success. What ended up fixing it for me was lowering my overclock from 5.0ghz to 4.7 and reducing my core voltage as well. I saw some folk say they arenāt overclocking though. Could still point to something in the update changing processor utilization leading to crashes. Been Playing for 2 hours and no crash anywhere. Before I was crashing in 2-3 minutes tops. It was insane was ready to pull my hair out.
Checking-in, also crashing every 15-20 minutes while just standing in town doing nothing. This never happened before the patch.
Who all here is on 1440p. I just switched back to a 1080p monitor and was able to do 3 dungeons without crashing, something I havenāt been able to do since the patch. Do I think it fixed it, probably not, but donāt have time to test further.
1440p dual monitor setup.
Doubt itās the OC. My machine has been OCād since install and not 1 issueā¦ yesterdays patchā¦ guaranteed crash within 15 minutes, no matter how many times I restart the game and machine

single 1440 here
Iāve tried every troubleshooting step I can think of. Looks like a memory leak. Watched my VRAM climb from 8GB to 17GB when it finally crashed. Wish Blizz would at least acknowledge.
Yes blizzard needs to post somwthing on twitter saying they are working in a fix or somethingā¦ this is rediculousā¦
So was mine but I ran out of things to try, so I tried reducing the oc and bam no crashes sinceā¦ Iām not saying your oc is unstable itās not. But the blizzard update code that came with the last patch could be making the game super unstable with the overclock settings that work just fine with EVERYTHING elseā¦I mean hell, this game is never silky smooth for me. Always some degree of stutter or ruberbanding so we know itās not optimally codedā¦
HEY GUYS TRY THIS: It seems to mainly revolve around Graphics settings: more specifically texture quality. I have everything maxed except texture quality is on low and Iāve been doing helltide for a while without my VRAM going over 9GB. With texture quality any higher than that it starts to run away until it hits about 16GB and then crashes. If you can, monitor your VRAM usage and it seems like toggling it from low to medium and back resets it. A temporary workaround but best luck Iāve had so far!
I reset my graphics settings and it didnāt work, but when I capped to 120 fps it worked.
will billzard place any fix for this? really annoying, canāt play the game. crashes 1 to 10 minutes. my setup is 4k monitor with RTX 4090
Based on the windbg, Hard crash due to bad memory address. Looks like a bug in D IV, not an issue with graphics cards, but as a software engineer, I admit I know nothing about video game software.
One of the most commented issues on this forum and still no Blizzard replyā¦
So I turned off the OC on my cpu, turned off nvidia reflex and i was actually able to play without crashingā¦imagine putting out an update that isnāt tested for these thingsā¦QA at activision sucks just saying
How long have you been able to play for though? Any chance for an update later to let us know if its still working? Thanks!
Blizzard hasnāt made a post on the forums in ~5 days, and the last post was just them putting up hotfix notes. I highly doubt they read this stuff. I think they just have it so players can blow off steam and they can ignore it.
Itās not an OC thing. The error in the error log/dump seems to be a memory access violation which is probably a null pointer issue or something like that. Itās not an OC thing. The game is just busted.
