Foggy and Hazy Screen During Game Play in Diablo IV! PLEASE FIX THIS BLIZZARD!

February 20, 2024 -

The foggy - hazy screen in the game is awful in Diablo IV, and there is nothing in settings that can fix it! It ruins overall game play experience! We are forced to see this hazy fog that makes game play unclear for all players! This is NOT good!

This issue really hinders clear visibility in the game overall. Why the hell did Blizzard allow this in the game if it is clearly such an issue, and it makes the game look hazy and unclear!? It’s terrible to have this hindering unclear screen in the game! So damn frustrating and for a game that costs between $69 and over $100!! What the HELL Blizzard!!

Please fix this hazy hindering fog in the game, in Diablo IV, aside from the many other issues and problems this broken, buggy beta game already has, Blizzard!! Get it together already! This is just awful! - JJ -

no idea what you even mean by Foggy and hazy screen really. Sorry, sounds like you messed arround with your pc settings.

or…you could just clean your monitor.

Sure thing. Also during the night in the game, it is way too dark to see clearly during game play as well.

I have none of these issues with any other game, except Diablo IV, and I have a high end Workstation and high end RTX Ada Graphics card, but unfortunately there is not much that can be done it seems to correct this to make game play more clear and visible. It’s awful! And the UI screen being too foggy and hazy and too dark during night game play is exactly what it means!

PS - As for the Trolls on here commenting about cleaning the monitor or sounds like a I messed around with my pc BS comment, go TROLL somewhere else! I am not the only player complaining about this still lingering BS issue in the game! Many players are experiencing the same damn thing with the screen UI being hazy - foggy and unclear and way too dark during night in the game! This issue has been like this since launch!

Please Note: I will be filing a formal complaint against harassing and misleading Trolls on this forum, like Purrsuasive, who cannot be trusted, and does this to many legit post on this forum to many Blizzard players / customers who have valid complaints about D4 on this forum, and against Blizzard if they continue to allow harassing and insulting trolls on this forum that do nothing to help the game or Blizzard.

Cheers! - JJ -

I suspect that this has something to do with either your monitor or your in game setting.

If your monitor is not very bright, you would need to turn the brightness up in game which obviously isnt the most pleasing thing aesthetically, everything will look a bit washed out but you will be able to see everything clearly.

Also you mentioned that you are using a RTX Ada gpu, which is a workstation card, the driver is not optimized for gaming. This could very well be a driver issue. Again, I still can’t see what you mean by foggy and hazy because in the screenshot you provided everything looks fine, it just looks like you turned the brightness up.

Do you have a brighter monitor? I myself use a C2 oled TV as my pc monitor and it has been nothing but excellent so far especially during darker scene, oled is really something else.

Not at all! I do not have these issues with any other game, except for infamous Diablo IV!

maybe you just disagree with their art direction, they purposely make the environment dull and mute in colour to create a depressing atmosphere.

Yeah try blaming it on the graphics card! Nice try but I have 2 WS and one has the RTX 4090 and still the same BS UI issues! So the issues is clearly something Blizzard needs to fix! Not me!

I am simply stating the possibilities, no need to get all defensive there.

i can assure you, it doesnt look like this on my pc.

it clearly looks kinda foggy on your screenshots, but its pretty sure a problem on your end buddy.

You are right, Howard. Apologies. Nothing against you. I’m simply frustrated and wished this game was better, and having to deal with such a poor screen when every other game I play looks amazing on my screen in high res, except Diablo IV. My Monitor has a refresh rate of 165 on top of it. Very frustrating. I’ll see what other options there can be to offset this issue. Thank you for your comment and feedback. - JJ -

oh the feeling is mutual, lol.

btw do you have dlss enabled? that could make your screen blurry at times. Your gpu can easily run this at 4k natively so if you enabled it earlier, maybe try to disable it?

I have to do that myself because the dlss somehow keep kicking in for no reason when I can cap 120@4k the entire time.

I hear you. Let me check and see. I’m logged into the game. Thank you.

From the screenshots and your description, it looks like a software issue on your end. That happens most commonly with corrupted drivers. There have been instances where your graphics card could be damaged but it’s far rarer. Can’t rule it out of course.

Now before you do your normal crying and blaming everyone but yourself, it’s possible that you don’t experience this on other games because they don’t utilize certain elements of your drivers or hardware. This is a simple explanation but I’m not about to go into a long winded diatribe for something you can just google on your own.

If I’m being honest though, I fully suspect you created this “problem” with settings just so you could complain. You have a tendency to be dramatic and have a clear history of bad behavior on the forums. No, I don’t trust you and I don’t think anyone else here should either.

I have Nvidia DLSS Frame Generation and Reflex Low Latency Disabled - along with Distortion and Low FX, and unless I play with the brightness and contrast it’s either too bright or too dark. Ugh… :frowning:

Update:

I already reported the bug issue to Blizzard, so hopefully some resolution can come from this. I may also open a ticket and see if Blizzard support can offer any solutions. Either way, thanks again, Howard. - Cheers - JJ -

well i am all out of ideas lol

maybe post on the bug report forum

whats you rmonitor? i had a samsung odyssey g5 something that was awful, it was super “foggy” in d4 when moving, while standing still it was fine

oh wow yeah, that looks terrible. I have no idea what kind of graphics card/settings you’re running there but that looks awful.

Mine looks awesome, vibrant and plenty of colors. None of that hazy/grey crap like yours. Hopefully someone can figure out how to get that fixed on your end of things
