Earlier I put a post in about being a slog getting this Sorc leveled. It’s gotten a lot better actually and I’m enjoying this for sorc. I know he’s considered B tier butv it’s fun and he’s coming into his own. Blowing up stuff is cool.
All the end game guides say to ditch Hydra but I rather like it. I think it’s helping a decent amount. I can’t get a decent damage roll on the unique fire staff and haven’t got the unique gloves yet in T3.
Just wondering if any of you are playing a fire sorc … And what aspects are you using?
I do feel it’s a tad weak against ST bosses but has gotten better as the character progresses.
Any pointers or stuff that has worked for you is appreciated.
All in all season 2 is very good. I do love the vampire zone and powers. I think it’s pretty well done and has revitalized the game a bit.
As long as you accept this fact, you are good. Problem starts when you try to make it good against content like NM 100. That’s where I had been banging my head. I am about to give up on that endeavor until the next patch but I doubt the patch would bring anything.
I might give in and roll a Ball of Lightning but when I think of it for what purpose? I might try another class instead. Still thinking what to pick.
I haven’t seen those guides but at the current state, I understand where this is coming from. Hydra as of now is at best a utility spell - meaning it’s no longer a primary skill like in S1. I’ll be happy if someone can prove me wrong otherwise.
You can check my Duriel kills. Maybe that will give you some ideas. I can’t recommend the best Fire Sorc setup yet because I myself is still struggling to find a godly build or even A tier build.
Is firewall a better choice instead of Hydra?
It’s hard to say. None of them are like OP. They’re okay but I can’t brag any of them for sure.
Curious to see, are you using two shields?
I may not even push this guy past NM 70 to be honest
Not sure what you mean by shield. I use Temerity pants plus Undying (Vampire powers) so I get almost a 99% barrier uptime.
Oh I stopped using Frost Armor a long time ago. Just got tired of it. I use Flame Shield 100% of the time now

You could always watch a Ball of Lightning build. Have you seen a Firewall build yet that doesn’t use BL?
I could brain dead upload a BL build wiping out Duriel. I mean why? Lol

I don’t want to speak for Greyghost here, but the impression that I get is that people are desperate to have hydra be meaningful again. I include myself in this as well because I fully remember playing hydra in beta and it was amazing.
I don’t even want to hear about it being OP or broken either because two points: 1. It was based on being level 25. 2. They buffed ball lightning, so there’s no reason not to bring hydra back to base level of 60%.

Yep. That’s a fact. And our desperation is also because Blizzard promised a buff to Hydra and Conjuration. But I don’t think we are seeing that here. I don’t see where the Burn and DoT damage happening.
If you look at BL, compare to the patch notes, I don’t remember anything that makes it strikingly strong. In fact folks were crying about the change in Static Surge.
you are in the vast minority of people that would try to make such a scuffed build work and not just have fun with a real build, there’s fire builds out there that will do 4x your damage, and northwar from maxroll will be making a meteor build very soon
I don’t get much fun from copying people’s other build. If copying other build is your thing, that’s good. I support you. But you can’t force your fun to others.
It’s really easy to copy someone’s build. Or slap Ball of Lightning builds. There’s fire builds out there that do 4x damage? You mean pure Burn damage? Where? I am curious.
I have seen two in YouTube that does good fire damage but that is more relying on Fireball and crit instead of Burn or DoT.
What’s a real build? Why does it affect you that someone is trying to do a build that doesn’t copy others and doesn’t follow the meta?

it doesn’t “bother” me, you just posted a video to the internet of a completely scuffed build that can barely kill anything and I reacted to it. I just watched 30 seconds of your t94 video and had to turn it off, maybe you enjoy torturing yourself idk. but there’s multiple fire builds out there that are actually functional if you need some help bro

Anything beyond that is not needed. I told you it’s easy to slap BL. Don’t you feel some happiness that you got to a complete something without following the meta? I do.
Do I like to torture myself? Maybe? I just like to do things my way and see how I can go further.
Yes, that T94 was difficult. But I’m happy with it because I was able to do it. I am targeting T100 soon. It will be harder for sure. Once I got it, I’ll be done with the build and move on to next challenge or an off meta build.

Will I be happier slapping and copying a BL build and melt Duriel and T100? Nope. It’s brain dead. Others have done it. I just don’t see why I would be happier copying others?

it’s not just ball lightning bro, blizzard, chain lightning, fireball, etc, all builds from last season, can all farm t100 right now. if you’re obsessed with this hydra burn thing then Blyndside over at Mobalytics has a firewall/hydra build you might be able to learn something from

I agree those other builds you mentioned can farm T100. I don’t see why Burn and DoT shouldn’t be doable and as easy there other builds when DoT is one of the primary things that got improved in S2.

just search it on mobalytics, the arpg legend Kripparian also has a firewall build updated on the 21st on mobalytics
