So I continue to get a fenris crash anytime I try and teleport between zones. Given the game requires you to move all over the map, it makes it pretty unplayable. A search of the forums tells me this issue has persisted since 2023 but it has got worse - why no fix Blizz?
A couple of things known to impact how much this will affect you:
-
Not running a fast enough drive where the game is installed.
This game requires an SSD for it perform well. And I would recommend an NVMe level drive with R/W speeds at 3K or faster. SATA based SSDs while faster than a HDD, still cap out at near 650MB, or 0.63K. -
Not only that, systems that have direct storage (which is most of them) sometimes are affected performance-wise. However that should have been addressed by now with an update from Microsoft, but you can still disable that, by adding a command line argument in Battle.net for the game:
-disableds
Aside from those two things, the other thing is connection reliability. This can be affected more on machines using WiFi connections, or share a lot of their internet traffic with other hardware (or software on same machine), especially on the upload side.
People trying to stream for example while gaming and not having enough bandwidth on the upload side.
You can troubleshoot your network connection with tools located here:

Another final factor would be making sure you have enough virtual memory setup for your system. Not having enough could affect the game performance. You can go to this link for steps on customizing it. This is optional, but it will improve your system performance, and not just for Diablo IV:

Good luck.
