Feedback after Early Access

I don’t know if Diablo 4 Early Access is meant for feedback and I haven’t seen any devs on Forums, but for the microscopic chance of someone reading the Forums for feedback posts, here are my opinions after playing all 3 characters to level 15 - and Sorcerer to 25.

First and foremost I would love to bring a little more positivity to this Forum by stating that the game is feeling fresh, looking great, and I am very excited for release.

Sorcerer dodge is clumsy
Compared to the other classes the Sorcerer dodge is soo clumsy, it makes me not want to use it unless it is strictly neccessary to survive. It feels very stiff, slow and generally awkward to use.

Health Potions are abundant
While leveling the health potions were so abundant, that it made them feel underwhelming to use and straight up annoying to deal with. Consider giving the option to automatically use dropped health potions, when the player is currently at the max potion cap for a smoother experience.

Immersion breaking: Dropped armor is too colorful
This may seem like weird feedback, but some of the armor that dropped - especially for Sorcerer - were so colorful, that it ruined the thrilling immersion of the story mode, when the main character basically looks like a clown in bright green, yellow and purple.

Overall game difficulty is too easy
For a somewhat capable player, the currently offered game difficulty is just too low, even when playing on ‘the hardest difficulty’ offered - that is World Level 2. It takes away from the tension of the great story building, when getting from A to B is just too much of a breeze. I want to feel like I am strugling against the demons, not destroying them without thought.

Commitment to social features
For me personally, it is a nice breath of fresh air that Diablo 4 has taken a more MMO-oriented approach, but it feels like there is a lack of commitment to features supporting this new oppurtunity, so it just ends up in some awkward state where the player interaction is mostly neglectable.

It would be amazing to see more commitment towards social features with things like joining a squad for World Bosses, making Clans less neglectable and exploring possibilities of making raid like challenges.

Drop rate is absurd
Already in early access at level 25, I can’t even do a single dungeon without filling my inventory with rares. I would rather not have a choice between going to blacksmith every 15 minutes or ignore item drops. There has to exist at better balance between quality of items and drop rates.

Legendaries are blunt
Honestly all the legendaries I managed to obtain during Early Access has been very blunt and mostly just increasing damage percentages or adding some defensive cooldown. Where are the awesome and impactful legendaries that changes the behaviour of my skills and add variety to my build during leveling?

Warning when leaving World Boss instance
There should definitely be a warning when teleporting to town inside a World Boss instance. I did that by mistake and I discovered I were unable to get back into the instance, as I at first didn’t even recognize it was instanced.

Account bound reown
Let us progress the reown of an area for the account wide benifits on multiple characters. If I have done 30 dungeons on one character and 40 other dungeons on another character during leveling, then I would love to gain reown for completing 70 different dungeons account wide. This concerns all of the reown systems side quests, altars etc. not just dungeons. It will be a very negative experience, if I have to repeat 30 dungeons I have already done, because I did them on an alt character.

Reown will be detrimental to seasons
Seasons was a very big part of the replayability of Diablo 3 and with the exciting news of them coming to Diablo 4, there is but one big concern. The reown system will be terrible for repeated seasons: It will be unpleasant for me to farm reown every third month.

Rogue felt underwhelming
Having played all three characters to level 15, I personally found Rogue to be plenty of fun but felt very underwhelming in strength. Sorcerer had plenty of flashy effects and lethal spells while Barbarian just had brute force and raw strength. I didn’t really feel much impact from the Rogue skills except flying around and doing stuff.

Rogue needs payoff for mixing melee and range
When playing Rogue I felt like I had two options going melee or going ranged. There was no obvious payoff to mixing the playstyles, and it therefore felt like I chose between using one of two halves of a non-complementary skill tree. It would be amazing to see some kind of payoff for matching and mixing between melee and ranged playstyle.

Ice Armor feels incredibly strong
While having Ice Armor activated I was basically invincible without having any legendary effects or using more than 1 skill point.

Support and utilities skills
In Diablo 3, all characters had plenty of options to add damage modifiers or debuffs to monsters or the party through different runes. I am sad to see that there is nowhere near the amount of utility options in Diablo 4 especially on Rogue and Sorcerer. In my opinion all skills could use a third passive being more party or utility oriented.

This also let to the biggest challenge with choosing my 6 skills on Barbarian, since there was a lot of cool utilities to use as fillers which is a huge positive.

Clans are neglectable
Now that the game has taken a more MMO-oriented approach, I would love for you to look into making Clans more beneficial and improving social interactions with fellow clanmates.

Barbarian: Masters of Battle
Please provide a way for players in the Open Beta to access this quest. This is beyond ridiculous and should basically be a bug report when the other classes have access to their unique level 15 boost. Sorry for the negative complaint, but this decision is beyond justification.

No re-spec cost
I love the Diablo series for being a laid back and fun go in and out kind of game, so please do not keep a cost for re-specing. I want to be able to try out a million different styles with my character, as if getting the right items is not enough of a challenge.

This was not early access, it was closed (marketing) beta. Early access starts 4 days before launch.
