I think if you disagree with someones thoughts about the game its totally fine. But to sh!t on him or his post for wanting the game a bit palatable for the general audience is a bit immature.
I see you donāt know how to read. I said you DID respond to Zero each time, but the wrong comment. You are reading way too much into this. Added to ignore list.
Must be a long list for you. Anyone that proves you wrong or doesnāt align with your mandate, gets ignored. Glad to be on the list!
In order to keep more players, I can only continue to sincerely suggest:
the season mode (resetting characters) is one thing, the seasonal event is another thing, and the pass is another thing, these three are not absolutely dependent!
The latter two can also be implemented in the non-season mode at the same time, and there is no such thing as what you can only design in the season mode!
Or it can only be designed so that non-season players have to wait for the end of the season in 3~6 months!
Itās just a pass, there are two versions, free and paid!
The free version of the pass is available for season mode and non-season mode everyone!
As for the paid pass, at present, the introductory price is $10 or higher?
Of course, as long as you are willing to pay, players in season mode or non-season mode can also get it at the same time!
Here is my proposal:
Season mode (character reset) can have exclusive season mode (character reset) achievements, season mode (character reset) ladder rankings, to obtain season mode (character reset) party icon borders, season mode (character reset) titles, even season mode (character reset) armor sets kit parts(equipment for shaping) as free rewardsļ¼
If this is what you said before, the exclusive rewards given by the season are actually the motivation for you to want to play the season mode, which is also human nature!
But new contenćseasonal events and other elements(including new drops, etcā¦)ćpaid passesćfree passesćget a new storage slotand and donāt delayed by 3~6 months before being placed in the non-season mode!
Otherwise, the official will lose a lot of opportunities to make money, and most players will never return, only a few players will insist on returning every season for a while!
Before the season mode (character reset) was introduced in D2, a bunch of people had cleared the story mode, and they were still online and refused to leave!
The popularity has remained strong for several years, and it has never been affected by the fact that the story mode has been cleared. The total population online has never declined, and it has grown every year!
Until the season mode (character reset) is introduced, the total number of active people will not go back!
After D3 introduced the season mode (character reset) , many players were not willing to stay, and almost no one was popular. This is the real big data!
The reality is so skinny!
The main reason is:
.it will also cause population diversion. Even due to the untimely new content and other new elements(including new drops, etcā¦), and the intentional delay of several months, this will cause non-season players The root cause of feeling bored, even incidentally affects the in-game economy, and there will be a feeling of playing other peopleās leftovers!
.When it comes to Seasonal resets I donāt want. Do they even give us enough character slots to store dozens of seasons worth of characters?
In D2R my slots are already fullā¦ how to play next season without deleting the old ones?
.There is another question, they have not responded positively, how does PVP player work well with the season mode (character reset)?
The season mode (character reset) can still be kept, no one said to delete it, although the season mode (character reset) is obviously an outdated and old-fashioned convenient way to deal with it, and it was originally defined to delete equipment that has been copied in large numbers, and to reset the economy!
Seasonal events are great, every game has them, even Diablo immortal, but season mode (character reset) and seasonal events are two different things!
But we canāt ignore the considerable number of non-season players. After all, everyone buys software, and they are also potential customers for long-term paid passes!
Whether it is ignoring the transactions between non-team players, or ignoring the activity of non-season players, it has shown how bad the results can be!
After it became an established fact that non-season players were disappointed and left, it was too late to remedy the situation. After the incident happened, the status shown in the statistics would of course be that the number of non-season players online was very small, Itās not that non-season players donāt go online voluntarily, but the wrong policy leads to this!
Itās not an MMO. Itās an ARPG with MMO features.
I can see where you got confused.
Iām pretty sure the premium battle pass content will be available later in the cash shop and the regular seasonal awards will cycle though again at some point as well.
In any event Iām not going to sweat it. If I see something I want I will buy the premium track or the cosmetics later in case Iām in a busy season in real life.
As for rolling a new character to progress I really donāt mind that either. Eventually there will be quick EXP and gear farms that will get you over the quarterly grind in a matter of days. I will just use it to test other builds without the worry of high respec cost.
I donāt see the article claiming that, at all.
Seasons is a fresh start, level 1 characters.
Most of these blokes think that their eternal realm character gets reset thoughā¦ which just isnt true.
Yaā¦ there maybe some misconceptions around all of it. I got into a rl argument with a guy that claimed the seasons and battlepass were linked and they had to pay 10 dollars every 3 months. Didnt matter how many times i showed him articles and quotes that seasons were free he would argue.
I will say though that seasons do make eternal realm characters kinda illrealvent. I dont think i have ever played an eternal realm character after seasons were introduced in D3. I can understand the frustration of players thst just dont have the time to invest into new characters every 3 months.
It would nice if blizzard could find a balance between the two.
You are not forced to do the battle pass every season, noone is holding a gun to your head.
But I perform better under pressure
Iāt is not a mmo it is not like other games, even though this one will have a battlepass, seasons are not new, they are simply expanding on d3 seasonal game mode and adding a battle pass.Biggest difference will probably be it was 2 years or so d3 was out before seasons, I donāt think d4 plans to wait as long before giving playerās season one.
I personally hope they wait long enough to give me ample time to enjoy the main campaign with out feeling rushed or interupted to go and play or check out seasons, I know you hard core no sleepers out there will have to wait a touch longer lol itās ok you will be fine i believe in you but i think most of us will enjoy a period of time before it starts.
We find out more soon and can check out online for a decent outline of what to expect https://www.polygon.com/23310291/diablo-4-seasons-announcement-expansions-blizzard
According to the wowhead interview summary they didnt say anything about levels being reset apart from everything else. But they did say your paragon will reset.
Iām more with Ace here.
Iām not sure if the D2/D3 season model to create new characters every season isnāt outdated. The old games did not have alot of content and they didnāt evolve in terms of story and content, and especially Diablo2 where it was not possible to reset your skillpoints felt like a fresh new start with every new character, testing new builds.
In D4 we donāt need new characters to play different, new builds, i donāt see how the old season model fits in here. In D3 it was ok, because the world structure was similar to D2, but D4 with its open world & MMO features, while still an ARPG in its core, seems to be another kind of game, more continuity, maybe more paid add-ons ( i hope so ) and story that evolves during its lifetime.
Other games have seasonal content, and like Ace said, its not necessary to start a new character to participate there. Everything that can be done in a season and its achievements can be done and implemented to be played with existing characters.
So Blizzard leaves me clueless about their intentions here, but maybe it fits all together when the game is released.
Best regards.
This will kill the game in my opinion. They are wanting to imitate PoE but this is not PoE, I thought it would be something superior to that. I prefer play with the 3 or 4 characters. A main character and the alts. This will be the biggest mistake of D4 ever making a prediction. PoE is a old game, D4 is supose to be the future of the genre.
What needs to be kept in mind is Blizzard is making Diablo IV for arguably three different groups in general terms as following: hardcore players, (which I am been that way since D2 LOD BattleNet) softcore players, and then MMO players.
Seasonās have always been in previous Diablo games ever since Diablo II. As resets for leaderboard posterity reasons for both softcore and hardcore players. Seasonās normally does contain additional content that wasnāt initially in normal play. As a recent example, Diablo II Resurrected with itās first season released with exclusive new rune words only for season play.
The reason for the level resetās which for Diablo IV will also include paragon board points. Seasons for balancing reasons because of leaderboard progress and stat progression along with challenges, are easier to manage with fresh starts. That way everyone that is playing seasons whether softcore or hardcore are on equal playing fields.
Blizzard devās themselves for Diablo IV have already clarified that even with seasonal play requiring resets that does not mean replaying the main storyline starting from scratch again. It has been confirmed that after completing Diablo IV main story, an āadventure modeā will unlock and can be carried over for new characters. Seasonās come release will be on the āadventure mode settingā.
Now, I donāt know how this adventure mode functions in Diablo IV. Personally, I hated adventure modes inclusion in Diablo III Reaper of Souls because it made everything easier. Once completing the main story from Diablo III even with one character, players can make new character in adventure mode which gives literally everything to the player on start. It killed Diablo III Reaper of Souls.
Idk why you need to start a new character every season, unlike mmos. Maybe because, d4 is an arpg, not mmo?
Yeah the paid BP for 10 bucks. is 100% optional.
In the IGN article i linkedā¦
ā Each season, youāll start with a new seasonal character that begins at level 1. Working through season-specific objectives will move you along the battle pass as you level up your character to level 100.ā
Paying for the BP isnt the point or argument at all. Having to start a new character to participate in the seasonal content and progress in the BP is the issue. This is NOT D2 or D3, those games lacked content after the story and really required seasonal play to keep the game fresh. Diablo 4 is nothing like that. It has endgame. It has open world. It has world bosses. It has strongholds. It has dungeons. Etc etc. D4 fis setup to provide replayability for the characters you create once, not reroll every 3 months to play new season content.
I was responding to Morgash to affirm. That itās 10 bucksā¦ and is optional.
The rest of your post I dont care about, went through the hoops with you earlier. made all my points, not getting into a cycle of repeating. Especially after finding out you considered BP a paywall.
