Enchanting Costs Are Too High

Anyone else getting annoyed with this? It jumps by like 500k every time you enchant the same item. My amulet just will NOT roll cdr and is now costing me 500k+ to reroll again and will continue to go up until I get the stat. I pretty much have to grind for 45 min just to reroll my item once. Not fun.

i spent 5 hours today grinding 20 mil trying to get a roll on my 3/4 crossbow today. not a single roll. i think i spent 25mil total trying to roll it. 5 hours of grinding for nothing. didnt run keys either because nightmare keys give no gold or exp theyre a waste of time.

your game is going to implode if you do not fix these two things now.

Yeah, I’m really debating reinstalling PoE now

trade discord helps with gold to fund enchantress reroll. best work around ive found. its just because there is heavy rmt right now and thats why enchantress as a gold sink is so heavy.

just wish they’d do what they did in poe and make it so that if you killed a special boss and paid a heavy amount of gold that you could get a chosen perc reroll. that aspect of poe is really cool.

the game is still young though and they are fixing nightmare dungeons so we’ll see i guess. they got a long road in order to not be crushed by poe 2.

my assumption is: 500k in 45minustes = world tier 2?

one T4 dungeon gets about that in scrap rare gear in 15 minutes or less.

the issue is things cant suddenly cost less because you drop the world teir. so costs are scaled off T4 gold rates i think, with the expectation people wont bother to re-roll their gear that they might replace quite soon.

but i agree, its a pain. my gloves refuse to get lucky hit chance, and are 1mill a roll and ar at about 3.7mill already invested. Would be nice if the scale up of the gold cost was on a lower exponential curve. I’d burn through my forgotten souls quicker, but I’d just do more hell tides and I quite enjoy doing them.

Yes, i agree on this. It is ridiculous. And there are no goblin runs for us to farm gold yet. Please review, Blizzard.

Gold sinks need a CAP for maximum cost. Its prohibitively expensive and I cant even upgrade my gear because GOLD COSTS! Not even lack of gear or materials. Gold is always the bottleneck…

It’s completely ludicrous honestly. Imagine if in PoE when you fail to link an item or whatever, you don’t only fail and lose the materials, but the cost also increases?

It’s layers of punishment for bad luck on some RNG that you have no control over. And then your super rare item you were excited about is effectively bricked. It’s also beyond broken btw, you just get the same 2-3 affixes rolling 95% of the time.

It’s disgusting is what it is.

There has to be high gold sinks, otherwise we end up on a server where everyone has billions of gold, and it has no value. Yeah it may be annoying sometimes, but in terms of trading and meaning, it’s in a perfect spot because it does have in value. All these comments show people have zero respect for in economy and actual scarcity of things.

Rerolling is a bonus feature that yes comes at a cost. But literally nothing else outside of that costs very much gold compared to how much you make late game.

Sorry the perfect item isn’t handed to you in gift wrap with a nice note attached to it.

What economy lol? Are you under the impression that there’s any kind of trading outside of a discord server and rmt? This game is basically SSF and seasonal to boot, a reroll cost in the several millions in a system that is broken and doesn’t even give you a fair shot has no place here, obviously.

And did you even read the post? Have you tried using this ā€œsystemā€? Do you even play any games or just troll people on forums? It really doesn’t seem like it.

The entire game past level 60 has basically no progression system beyond pure RNG spam in items, which are padded with 90% worthless affixes that are just crappier version of +damage. The player has no agency anywhere, no goals to work towards, you’re supposed to just grind at the same repetitive thing and hope that a 1 in a trillion item drops naturally after thousands of hours of that? Great fun, yeah…

This is dog**** design, there’s a reason target farming and crafting systems exist in these games, this is just a player trolling system. Even D3 did it way better than this, though it still totally sucked compared to other games and people always complained about it.

Stop defending utter crap without even knowing what you’re talking about, this obviously needs to be fixed (it’s literally broken) and improved, the game needs to be improved, we don’t need white knights to valiantly defend bugs lol.

I would agree with others saying we need gold syncs but the simple fact that we cant trade anything negates that 100%

With these kind of costs they might as well give us the full list of affixes to choose from, with a random stat value. And rerolls just increase the stat a small random amount.
Never worthless :white_check_mark:
Goal to work towards :white_check_mark:

Spent 10 million just on one piece. At that rate I’d need like 100 million for a full set. I think one of the last few rolls costed 3.4 million.

The only saving grace is that I’m just not picking up good pieces quickly enough, so by the time I have to enchant the next piece, I’ll probably be back up to 20-30 million cash again.

I honestly can’t decide if I prefer this as a soft cap to how many times I can roll a piece of gear, or whether I prefer cheap rolls but each piece of gear has a limit to the number of rolls it can accept.

They surely need to rework enchant because it is too pricy and not worth waisting so much gold… for the price, why can’t we just choose the stat BUT the % will be random, we will be happy because we have the stat we want but more grind for the better roll %, less frustration.

Beacuse if they gave us the stat we wanted (even a low roll) we wouldn’t feel as incentivized to keep playing because the gear is all they have in terms of end game content. I’ve stopped for now because everything in this game feels like it was designed to slow you down. Not the kind of game I want to play. If and when blizz decides to start pumping out content and introduces some qol, I may return. Until the, I’m having a blast on poe and look forward to poe2!
Edit: not a poe fanboy pooping on d4 because I love poe. I hadn’t played poe in 4-5 years and d4 drove me back to it lmao

Insane, I have spent millions upon millions trying to get move speed on boots. It didn’t roll a single time. I feel the enchanting itself is broken first of all, second of all the cost are way too high. It’s quite ridiculous. Some people will start buying gold from online ā€˜gold stores’, I do not think that Blizzard intended this to be the way people would play the game. Please fix this Blizzard, because it’s wrong. People are doing bad stuff to get gold. I would never do this myself, but I see some people really feel the incentive to play the game this way.

It would also be nice if you got more than only 2 affix rolls.

Disappointing and Discouraging thats how I can only call the current enchanting system!
1st- The cost is Insane,
2nd- there is only 2 options,
3rd- Options can happen to be the same.

What we need is Lower Escalating Cost of Enchanting, More then two options and make sure they can’t be the same because Gear and crafting is the Endgame and like someone already posted its pretty much starting after lvl 50

I usually let out a sigh when I find a decent item but want to change a single stat from it and I have to go to the occultist. Last time I spent 50 mil (all my money) on a ring trying to get crit dmg on it but it never rolled. I got so annoyed I just sold the ring and logged out for 2 days. It’s just so unrewarding using the occultist pretty much every time.
