After a week of working on my first HC character, I got to Paragon 220, and game suddenly crashed in the middle of an undercity run. I logged back in and I lost all that hard work. I can’t believe that Blizzard doesn’t have a fail-safe for situations like this, especially since it is a know problem with their updates. This is BS. I’m done with this game. Unbelievably frustrating.

That’s really rough. I don’t understand the appeal of running a Hardcore character on a 100% online, buggy game that notoriously lags and rubberbands you though

I have never wanted to play a HC character before, but got bored with the grind to 300 paragon. Started knocking out some Challenges, and saw 0% completion on the HC challenges, then thought “What better season to play HC than with a completely OP Spiritborn” I was really enjoying it, until this happened. Completely ruined my desire to play Diablo now. I’m going to play Dragon Age and forget this game.

Did this just happen? Cause I’ve noticed every time Blizzard pushes one of these little mini patches out, my game crashes then updates.

This is the reason I will never play hardcore in a Blizzard game. The idea of spending hundreds of hours on what is essentially a fart in the wind any time the server crashes is not very appealing.

I am about to be done with this game, too. This season have been just way too much things going wrong and the timing for fixes is not matching the cost of the game plus DLC. Maybe it was my fault thinking that Diablo 4 was a triple A game.
I opened a couple of threads and have also been asking for solutions to the game constantly crashing despite a having a top notch PC. This the only game or even app giving me problems. No solutions, no response from Blizzard.
I can see a lot of hotfixes happening but they are not solving anything for me. And yes: I have tried the solutions provided by Adam on Twitter, by users here and Reddit and also my knowledge about PCs and how software works.
The game was running perfectly before VoH. After DLC it started crashing 1-3 times a day (I play 8+ hours dialy), but since the Halloween patch (that actually brought nothing for me as a player) the game is simply not playable. My ventilation goes to 100% and I know it is about to crash.
Really sorry for your character. This is basically wasted time because this is a game where sessions bring progress to the character. Losing Tributes of Radiance or hundreds of Aether to a crash is just time that could’ve been invested elsewhere.

Yea that’s about the time it crashed for me too, forcing a small patch when I immediately tried to log back in. In fact that’s how almost all of my crashes have gone for the past two weeks. Crash, patch. Crash, patch. Anytime they push out a patch, crash.

Nothing hardcore in this game is casual. 220 as an HC is impressive.

no it’s not impressive…i’m paragon 275 in HC and i’m not crying either, even though i’ve died several times even through a crash, you consciously choose hardcore, even if you can die without it being your fault, you still cry around should you do ez mode.
it’s also not a great achievement because you can get back to paragon level within a very short time after a death, the level time of 1-60 is a joke, especially with a few tricks like collecting wisper crates on the bank for instant 60 and backup gear.
should he play spiritborn, even less is an achievement…

ouch, back in the day when i played on HC there was a challenage to get to 100 first and some “mother” time froze/glitched my game and when I logged back in, i was i the hall of losers, i mean fallen…
I havent played this season yet but I keep visiting in hopes of seeing a glimer of postive before I decide to start this season, still nothing has drawn me in yet.
Out of memory crash… what a bugged game honestly…
Happens in D2 (but less), and happens in D3 and D4.
Cant play HC with Blizzard games.
Learned my lesson in D3

dont forget to delete your account so you dont secretly play, like most people who have to tell everyone they are done with D4, they still play or just come and whine on the forum.
