Done with Diablo IV: Game crashed and lost Paragon 220 HC character

You should try achieving something in real life. You may find it difficult with that smug attitude of yours. Best to stay on EZ mode in your parents’ basement.

I felt sorry for your before I saw this. All is left is schadenfreude

I am sounding like a broken record, but I have been telling people this from the start of D3. DO NOT PLAY HARDCORE. There are no benefits other than ones self ego. Playing online, there are too many issues which effect gameplay and any one of those can kill your character, especially with all the bugs that comes with a new season. I can’t count how many times I died due to a system crash or when I had a power outage while playing. No big deal as I was playing softcore, but I think that I would have thrown my computer out the window if I had played hardcore and lost all that time I invested. I have NEVER played hardcore and never will.

Ive noticed the exact same. Every time they push a patch, the game will just crash to desktop, and the patch will install.

Yes concidering how buggy this season is,thats pretty good. Hc is a different,Dc happens all the time, sucks when you just get geared that has happened to me a few times.

I’m pretty sure that these crashes are related to nVidia drivers somehow (maybe you have to disable some settings). I have AMD and never had any crash.

I also play hardcore - been doing it exclusively since early D2. Haven’t even touched sc in d3 or d4. In D4 the crash thing wasn’t as bad when scrolls of escape were reasonably around - for some reason they are stupid rare now with VOH. It also doesn’t help that lately there seem to be a lot of buggy patches.

Several things I can suggest to help mitigate DC deaths and lag spikes in general (I have died to very few of either despite experiencing tons of them - most of my deaths are my own stupidity). I also play on a crappy internet from a small island - so what I do obviously works.

  • Make TANKY characters. Stop following softcore max dps maxroll guides or whatever. That nonsense is for SC blasting not HC… Use your defensive skills, and abilities, and all the options.
  • try to have passive sources of damage if your character allows it - minions, thorns, long duration spells etc. Stuff that can fight for you when you DC / lag.
  • Disable auto patch in the launcher. I personally haven’t done it but I heard it is possible? Also disable windows update etc.
  • Use the tank merc as your primary. Spec him to have 3-4 taunts - that will make a MASSIVE difference in keeping you alive long enough while the game kicks you out of the game or you recover from a lagspike. Not guaranteed of course.

You’re not going to be setting pit150 records like this but you will live a hell of a lot longer and have a much better game experience. Hardcore is a far more enjoyable game mode than softcore - when lag / dc are taken out of the equation.

Even tho you are rightISH in some points your tone reeks of smol pp overcompensation with big epeepee, enjoy your hc achievements.

Oh, so the problem is mine? Nothing to do with Blizzard? Oh okay, man. Thanks. I will disable my entire setup to make Diablo 4 work despite being the only thing that has a problem with my PC. About other people havnig issues: their problem, too. People’s PCs just gotta git gud.
You are simply above all. Your PC was ensambled by God so it never fails and never will. Forgive my 6K dollars machine for not being enough to run this perfectly optimized game…

Repeat after me: “I understand that my hardcore character will be lost if that character dies for ANY REASON and that I am ok with this happening. If am not ok with my character being lost for ANY REASON then I shall not play hardcore”

It hurts…Roll an SB might be an easy solution.

And that is why you don’t play on HC you can’t control things. I’ve been DC’d numerous times for my modem restarting to apply updates mid dungeon, I’ve had power go out on me you name it and any one of these and POOF you lose your character… NOPE just play the regular game and if it happens no big deal you just rez and go back to what you were doing.

The only way to play hardcore is in softcore. Enforce your own hardcore. IF you die in a legit way delete your character. IF you die in crash or DC keep going.

You miss out of the titles and such though but if that doesnt interest you do it this way.
