Make T1 into T1, Make current T3 into T2, make current T4 into T3 and give us a harder T4 that is equivalent to pit 80 ( the reason not PIT 100 because at that point mobs because way to bullet spongey and it is non enjoyable. pit 80 enemies are a solid middle ground for Infernal horde, NMDs and Lair bosses to be)
Current T2 is useless and we skip it to go sit in T3 until we are ready for T4, T4 is to easy since you scale it x10 by the time you get geared up.
Ok Sure. Lets put it this way. S7 was fun the events were meaning full , the bugs were minimalized, community was active. old players rejoining. S7 was awesome because you could mess around with your spec and not be meta yet still have fun ⌠until you got into T4 endgame ofcourse. Which is fine and i think was part of the fun factor is that you didnt need to follow some meta guide until you got to T4. Now??? you need meta right away T2+. lets face it one-shot boss mechanics are not fun for anyone, especially if you are in low Tier. Sorry but this maybe a huge mistake, I only recently rejoined in S7 and brang a bunch of people back to play. Now the No Fun nerfs hit and Blizzz decides that S9 needs testers!!! yet they canât even correct the current mistakes such as the Infernal Hordes bugs. Ie. not updating what wave you are on and sometimes not even showing what aether you have collected. Sorry no thanks we are looking for a dif ARPG we are no longer going to waste away since there seems to be many other options out there. Good luck with the comeback though, you almost had us ! Until we understand from the community that this is by design.
Why not go back to an improved D2 which was far superior to D3? Ooooo (like we used to say in Ultima Online) to much Greed!!! (The Store Cosmetics look better than any stuff you can get in game normally). Uâd think if a company wanted to be succesful with store sales they would be on par with Black Desert at the minimum. ooof
How about an Inferno difficulty that is equivalent to Pit 150+ and even the deer trotting by can one shot you. But for seriously there is little to no difference in Torments once you have a build that can do it, and weâre just back in D3 Torment 16 land.
Um, that is a no from me. It may sound like fun for you; however I am pretty sure many others donât play your way.
Current pit and torment are fine, rougher than it was and not overwhelming for others.
I beg to differ, I have a Sorc build that works best at this level. Yes, there are builds that do better but not the build I want to play along with many others I know. We already enjoy our fun on T2-T3 never thinking about T4 or caring.
Itâs an open world game, and the more you stretch out instanced zones by tier the less players youâll see in your tier. This is obviously not desirable. Heck, players NOW are complaining about not seeing anyone 1 month into the season.
Thats because you get more exp the more players are around. I just wish they didnt use random servers when you port. This is the problem. They put you on a server (solo) that is not full but then when you port, its a random new server unless you go back to an instance to pick up more stuff. Should be doing what wow does and have dedicated servers for regions. Tired of the chinese bot on the trade chats
I am a proponent of harder difficulties but there are builds which need the transition from T2 to T3. The transition is non trivial which means they canât just skip a whole tier.
What you are right about though which the whiners donât want to understand: locking T4 at a lower pit level forces you to do pits only at some point to level up. Having T4 at pit level 75 for example would allow you to do any activity in T4 and still gain exp.
People who are resisting this idea by crying wolf donât know what they are missing on, especially those who hate pits. Any activity to level up to P300 should be the reward for being in the higjest difficulty alas hell mode in D2.
I wouldnât set the difficulty too high though. Pit 70-75 difficulty at max. Again, you want most builds to somehow perform there and not be just bystanders.
This change + ladder board would bring the game closer to being a diablo game.
I think one of the core errors in this logic is that T1 and T4 are fundamentally different. While S9 did promise to do that in the campfire chat last go around with higher GA rates in higher difficulties the current state of the game is just that T1 and T4 are the same content at different HP an damage values with statistically minimal change in outcomes.
Also, it is inaccurate that you can skip a tier using the pit system. You do have to qualify for both T2 and T3. When you say, âskipâ you mean not engage the open world, and thatâs fine, but that isnât a true skip. This matters because unlike Normal, which actually can be skipped from the start of the game where you do not have to qualify out of it, all tiers have to be proven to be beaten.
I used to say the same thing youâre saying here, but Iâve evolved my opinion. The reason you donât want more difficulties with smaller gaps between each is because then there is no difficulty at all. If you can always pick the difficulty that is âperfectâ for you, youâll never be challenged.
Exactly! They literally are no different. And whatâs sad is that if they want this to be the penultimate difficulty they could have added new mobs, new gameplay in the world and dungeons, new mob abilities, new bosses difficulties or change ups, etc⌠But did they? Have they added a new world boss in two years? Have they even attempted to add new bosses to the recycled boss encounters in the 150 dungeons that mostly feel copy pasted with the same bosses in many? Nope right?
Nope same exact thing as T1 just bigger numbers like Greater Rifts in D3. If you can do a GR 75 or whatever you can do a T16 just fine. If you can do a Pit 55+ you can do a T4 just fine⌠Itâs so fricking lazy and minimalistic man. They need a real dev team leader in there directing things holy moly (I donât care how problematic or toxic they think it is). Definitely someone with a real vision for this game and intricate knowledge of arpgâs and their worldwide history with several games under their belt. This game needs solid direction and a real vision directing this cause right now it ainât cutting it. And we need a directorâs letter to the Diablo fans addressing these shortcomings if they care about the game at all.
I can only do so much Iâm just one dude and not the inventor of this subgenre. Iâm just another fan.
But I do know one thing it was born out of Brevikâs love for rogue and a few other games and trying again and again hoping for insane loot to help you push with your build. Itâs a very simple concept that somehow is super hard to pull off for some reason now. Maybe itâs best to return to the original formula and retry, so back to D1 modernized we go?
Time to really bring it all full circle and relearn what made Diablo great.
I disagree with this. Picking the perfect tier isnât always what I want to be doing, that is down time, brain dead time. I want to improve my build and move up always but when the mood strikes me. There is nothing âgradualâ between moving between T3 and T4 currently, it is more like a 10 inch thick tungsten carbide steel wall keeping one from moving up in these.
Yes, I concede there are build doing it easily and I could always cave in and use those but that is not the way I play a build, nor it is what I would consider even playing the game; I am playing someone elseâs build and play style that is not fun for me.
