I would just like to let everyone know that it is currently not safe to buy items for gold on diablo.trade. There has recently been a bunch of duping going on for those who didn’t know and sadly it’s causing a lot of players, myself included to spend their hard earned gold on something that will instantly vanish.
I bought an item on diablo.trade, a triple GA ring to be specific (Max Life, Atk Spd, Resource cost reduction) for 27 Billion gold. After I received the item, I went to temper it, got max roll tempers and then I proceeded to masterwork the ring. I masterworked it and ran out of materials so I went to put the ring in my stash. As soon as I opened my stash, the ring vanished, completely disappeared.
This is what happens with duped items, they disappear shortly after being traded and there is nothing we can do about it.
IMO this is a stupid feature to have in a game. If an item gets duped, it should INSTANTLY be wiped before anyone can sell it off, not when an innocent player pays almost everything he has only to receive something that is going to vanish.
This is a warning to all players, hoping the same thing doesn’t happen to you. Be safe.

It won’t happen to me because i don’t play the shady trade game. But i can see why people do. For some it’s about capitalizing from the game (The dupers.) And for others well finding gear and items on their own is just too much to handle. I mean we are talking about a class of people who are used to getting trophy’s for just farting in class And stinking out the place. haha.

Ahh good old duping… the most memorable feature from Diablo 2.
Making an auction house and disabling trading would fix this.

The difference from what i know about items dupes on D2 Since i did not use the Co-Op feature when it came out. Is that at least you got the item. Now it’s fake items lol. As far as an Auction house goes, It might stop duping but not gold selling and flipping.

Blizzard has always warned people about RMT sites. People still keep using them even though they know the risks.

There was no real money involved in this transaction, and Blizzard does not provide an official or in-game way to streamline trading. A marketplace or trading tab, etc is needed in game. Badly.

This is why they need to either add an AH or disable all trading unless you were grouped with the person and were there for the kill that the item dropped. Blizzard is not good enough to fix the duping issue. There will be new duping methods every season. There are exploiters that do nothing but find ways to exploit the game and they are very good at finding them.
This is why the only trade I do is through people I know. I will never touch a 3rd party source.
Also you arent the first here to report this. Its been known for a while and there have been many threads on it.

I could go for either. If an AH, Gold caps on items would need to be imposed. As well as a increasing listing fee for each item that is relisted. Bulk items like fragments would be considered a single item. Stackable items would be charged as a per item fee. like Runes. Fees would be based on selling price. On Another note, This would not be an AH but more like a consignment shop You list your items for direct buy out, The shop gets a fee.

More misinformation from you, what a surprise.
The site the OP is talking about is trading in game gold for items, there is no RMT done on the website.
Just so you know RMT = real money trading.

I sold a pair of boots on diablo.trade. It were 2GA boots that didn’t fit my build.
What struck me the most was that I listed it for 10 Billion gold (in line with other items) and sold if for 6 Billion.
The prices on that site and used in trading are insane. There is no way I could ever get to 6 Bil by just playing the game. I would need to:
- start trading early on and build up wealth to buy the high marked BIS items
- RMT
From the money I made I bought 2 rings for my build as I just could not for the life of me get the correct rings (and still haven’t to this day as well).
Let’s say the dude that bought my boots used RMT. My account can get banned because I traded with him even though I legit had the boots dropped and just put them up for sale. I have no way of knowing how the other player aquired his gold.
Blizz needs to open an ingame trading market. You put an item for sale, it gets taken out of you bank and in the market bank. Players can bid or do an immediate buy out. The buy out should be limited to 50 to 100Million. This can kill off RMT as you can make that currency by normally playing the game in a reasonable timeframe. Traded items are bound on account so no flipping is possible. Items should get hashes assigned on drop. If an item gets duped, the hash changes and invalid hashed items can immediately be pulled from the market.

i know it, whiz khalifa is a fake!!!
Hope this is true (feel sad for you ofc). But if it this can really happen…For Lilith sake devs what a cluless junior team. Just go to McD or something and dare you to forget pickle!
What are you talking about…? Did you even read my post? This has absolutely nothing to do with RMT…
I agree with everyone else, Blizzard has not provided us a proper trading method other than directly trading with a player which is clearly unsafe with duping going on.
If there were an AH, they could add code to check the item as it gets listed and if it’s duped, the item gets wiped. They could also add code to this that sends them information, detailing where the item originally came from like who picked it up first, who traded it first etc and issue a ban.
People who do nothing wrong shouldn’t get screwed like this just because Blizzard can’t figure out a way to prevent duping.

hey hey stop acting like you didnt buy gold with credit card or was it a debit card
Oh yes sure, let’s prevent every players who dropped something good to share it with their friends later on, just to prevent duping, that makes soooo much sense.
never trust that site. duping has been there since s1 and hasnt been fixed to date.

You say it has nothing to do with RMT, but what do you think is happening to your gold? I can tell you for certain that it’s not being used to buy another item…
It’s unfortunate that this happened to you, but people have been saying repeatedly that items are being duped en masse again. Anything that is near perfect should be assumed to be duped at this point unless you can 100% trust the person you’re trading with.
The only way Blizzard will ever fix this is to disable trading like they did in Diablo 3, otherwise scammers will always have a vested interest in figuring out new ways to dupe items since there’s always a demand for them.

Look at this all GA gears used by streamers one week after the DLC launched. I wonder why it wont disappear after tempering. Maybe it was duped with better technology
