I would like to ask if you, yeah you who is reading these lines, as franchise fan like myself, no matter your age…would you buy Diablo 5, knowing now what happend to Diablo 4?
It’s pretty clear now that they did not fullfiled their promise to return to root - well they did at start, but changed their mind in past year, and clearly made this game something between Diablo: Immoral and Diablo 3.
So knowing this, let’s say you played Diablo 1,2,3, Immoral and D4. Are you going to buy, knowing what director said “players had changed” and that “this is what community wants” ? I’m really curious. Simple yes or no (plus extra chars :D) will do I know this wont be balanced because many ppl don’t even visit these forums and mostly fans are what left, but still, wanna know
PS; no need to explain what you currently like or dont like. I visit these forums quite often
If D5 has something new to offer, yes.
If D5 is just D3.5 like D4 then no.
Effin Right I will. Though I’m sure they have to at least finish the story for D 4 before mentioning anything about D 5.
And I say this, Very very strongly, the reason why D 4 is in the State is in , IS BECAUSE Players Wanted it this way. So the Dev’s aren’t 100% to blame.
They make D 5, the consumers may make it like D 3 all over again, who knows.
They don’t have to finish the story. They can just make D5 be about Mephisto’s takeover of Sanctuary.
They could, but being as Realistic as possible, let’s at least wait and see how the story is in D 4 first. No telling where the story is going.
Good. That is your opinion and I respect it. But there is a but Did we (players) really wanted it ? I think it’s very subjective and only Blizz could clarify this by telling us how many ppl left and how many stood, along the road D4 took.
Because before release, like everyone(i knew) was thrilled from D4 beta and it’s return to root, while after we took turn to D3 they were dissapointed.
I really doubt that we will get the entirety of the Western Kingdoms. Maybe we will get a Xiansai expansion but I don’t see them committing to a large game with 5-6 expansions.
It’s not My Opinion. The Diablo 4 Dev said it.
Not my words,
But I don’t care either way. I’m enjoying D 4 and what it’s offering, I’ll purchase D 5 as well.
i find that so weird, considering how peak d2r gets on ladder resets.
Yes they are. They make the game all responisbility lies upon em. Them and the CEO ofcourse.
The game got released to early, important staff was fired due development process and got replaced with lesser experienced people not familiar with the project, they lied about the direction of the game clearly never intendet to return to it’s roots. They shift the blame on other people and even released video of “employees” they knew would drag attention and use em as a scapegoat.
They doing everything they can to make it look like they “care” while they take a huge dump on the franchise and the customers.
In short, no diablo 5 for me.
Yeah, at some point i think, they should opt in different modi.
One for old players like me, that simulates more the D2 experience, and one for the gen z gamers.
I mean, technical it shouldn’t be that hard of a problem, to give players a much wider variety of customization bars. Not too much, so multiple sessions/server will not get out of hand but one modus where “oneshooting lair bosses in T4 is not possible” would be fine.
My guess is that Blizz will push out lots of expansions before we reach Diablo 5. That being said, there is a very very very high chance that I’d buy Diablo 5, if the first trailer I see excites me.
Actually it depends on what will be in D5.
Big NO for me:
- Long cooldowns
- Scaling
- Borrowed powers aka aspects/d3 style sets
- No SSF league and league with full open trading
If at least 2 of this 4 will be in D5 i will never buy this game, cuz before d4, I still had doubts that it was possible to make a good ARPG with these things as a core in the game, but using the example of d4, I realized for sure that this was simply impossible. These points are incompatible with the ARPG genre. And i will never buy D5 if it will have this.
Ofc D4 is the most fun I had with an arpg.
I don’t like D2, neither PoE2
Yeah, i’m aware of those words he said. And again he didn not backup that statement by any data. I would really like to receive some kind of survey as a person who purchased the game with different promises. And they would have to ask ppl if it’s OK to go D3 way or further develop D4 in it’s own way as it was inteded. And THEN they would have to publish it publicly ofc. Otherwise i dunno, but I dont believe him, like look there are ppl in my social bubble who have same opinion and even on theses forums you can find ppl like this. Right ?
why would u ask about d5 when they going through dev changes and need to polish d4 first?
Remember when Windows 8 became Windows 8.1? That’s Diablo 5
I would have to see what the game is and does before I can say if I would or not. I wouldn’t buy the game simply because it has the name Diablo in it’s title if that’s what you’re asking.
D5 will happen faster than the transition from D3 to D4 did but it’s still quite a few years off. Lets focus on making D4 good right now.
