Factually wrong. Horse works fine. Looks cool. I love collecting them. Faster than walking. Better way of getting around than what PoE 2 offers.

Just say you’re not even trying to have a good faith discussion and save everyone a lot of time.
The dude also congratulated Blizzard on the launches of D4 and their expansion. He has some playful jabs but nothing all that serious. Dont get so butt hurt by it.
I’m not hurt by it, but Dude, you have seen it.
If it wasn’t for that “jab” as you said, the toxicity wouldn’t of been This bad. IMI.
He certainly didn’t help the rivalry.
*and please don’t assume anything about me.
where did you get that quote?
because in all the interviews in the 2 weeks before the EA release I’ve seen, i think he only mentioned Blizzard/D4 once by name, and it was in relation to the community reaction between a POE1league-announcement and D4s Spiritborn announcement.
it was something along the lines of (obv. Paraphrasing here): “we saw people on reddit/twitter asking how a league in a F2P game has more content than a paid expansion for D4”
he then went on how that statement was false and how creating a class is way more work than their league was. just that the players might not percieve said work. and it was apparently that moment that made them think about what is “easy” or “hard” to make content; and what gets more milage with the players.
that was apparently the point they stopped working on the campaign and focused on the endgame for EA. since the maps are just “remixes” of compaign zone tilesets and were therefore “easier” content and it’s where players would spend more time.
i think he also mentioned D2 in one of the interviews, but obviously as inspiration for POE1.
I don’t remember GGG being anything but respectful towards other games.
obviously i could have missed that one interview, but it would surprise me.
all this to say:
this “rivalry” is not fueled by GGG
and it’s not only ARPGs, i remember the Dota vs LoL (vs HoN rip) moba time when they released or all the “WoW-killer” articles for every new MMO
IMO it’s just a result of the “current” (like last 10-15years+) media that want’s to always be first in reporting anything, where speed is often more important than being correct.
and “us” vs “them” like confrontational articles are easy to garner clicks/attention even if it is just ragebait.
and being subjected to this kind of media a lot influences people, just look around.
I did a quick research on google.
The Streamers certainly didn’t help the situation either.
Streamers want a good game to play and make money off of.
No one wants to watch d4 because it is terrible…
People watch Poe2 because it isn’t.
It’s not complicated.
#confidentlyincorrect
They released an unfinished product with no depth, replayability and story to it. Especially the expansion side of things.
The hate is much deserved.
No it’s 100% deserved and I’m tired of trying to defend it at this point. Trying not to be overly negative either for various reasons but every negative criticism of D4 has been well earned.
There are a bunch of examples out there, but POE 2 really is the best to cite because they are an indie developer with not even 1/10 of the resources Blizzard has available and that game is crushing it.
It’s not a perfect game, and there’s plenty that even long time fans aren’t happy with, but early access is off to a great start and the team has been both fast and open about changes.
I know that our Bois here have their hands at least somewhat tied by corporate, but that doesn’t change the fact that this game was in development for 10+ years with a massive budget and THIS was the best they could do?!
Well they sure sold a lot of units and MTX’s, that’s for sure. I don’t see D4 stopping anytime soon.
Let’s see what they do Season 7, after all… maybe if enough people stop playing it, D 4 might change to suit what ever people want… Again.
