Like many others posting today I consider myself a diablo veteran. As recently as last year I beat d2r on hardcore, and built some legendary items like two griefs for my barb.
I say this because as much as we love diablo 2, let’s not forget what it really was. I killed the tranvincal, chaos sanctum, Baal, and some select high rng dungeons and then reset the game, on repeat, for hours.
The only other time you would party with people is to do a rush, duel, or make monsters harder to farm/get better loot. In which case you still just repeated the same runs.
So, all that said, I loved diablo 2, but let’s not forget what it was (realistically). I bet half of you talking about how lame this is compared to d2 would not play d2 today for more than 2 hours. We can try to enjoy something new different, this was just a beta, let’s give it a shot and see what end game looks like before we blow it up.
Hell, for all we know, you could get a second action bar once you hit lvl 50 and use 12 moves.
Let’s appreciate what’s good - the physical combat and screen shake feels amazing and rewarding, the gore and dreariness is back, and the game is just all around fun to blow stuff up.
It can use some tweaks and fixes, but I’m not refunding yet, and I do see the potential.
