[DEVS][Feedback] Feedback after reading the initial PTR patch notes

Blood Seeker’s Aspect

Blood Lance damage per lanced enemy decreased from 10-30% to 5-15%.
Blood Lance Critical Strike Damage while Healthy decreased from 25%-45% to 15-35%.

Sever

Main damage decreased from 110% to 100%.
Return damage decreased from 45% to 20%.

**why are you nerfing the damage of a build thats not even being played because its too weak?

Now: Your Shadow Damage has a 20% chance to deal 300% increased damage.

**my only wish for this is that you make the 20% into a lucky hit chance. or something that can be influenced in a way to occur more often. players prefer to be able to have impact to their chances. such as critical strikes increase the chance to 40% or something like that.

Charged Bolts

Damage reduced from 45% to 35%.

**i wish the devs would put more notes in as to why they nerf things like this especially when next to noone is actively using this skill in a build generaly. this detters players from playing builds involving this skill. i get that its likely because enhanced charge bolts nova damage was increased alot but explain that slightly.

Tal Rashas

Damage bonus per stack reduced from 10-25% to 10-20%.

**this is fine but i wish you guys would change this unique to proc the additional “casts” of other elements to be counted when casts are triggered by enchant effects such as when enemies die and fireball explodes from then from the fireball enchant would count as a fire spell being cast making this a bit more easy to maintain passively.

Esadora’s Overflowing Cameo

Previous: Upon collecting Crackling Energy, there’s a 15% chance to release a lightning nova, dealing x Lightning damage, increased by 120% for every 100 Intelligence you have.
Now: Crackling Energy now gains 10% damage for every level in Shock Skills you have equipped and enemies hit have a 10% chance to refund a charge. Upon reaching maximum Crackling Energy, you rapidly unleash all charges on the closest enemy to you dealing 40-80% increased damage. You cannot gain charges from hits while rapidly discharging.

**i feel the description needs a bit more explination. because 10% damage for every level in shock skills you have equipped you might want to change to on your action bar. i can use more skills then whats on my action bar is my main reason for saying this and those arent equipped. just sounds more accurate to say on your actionbar rather then equipped.

also does “You cannot gain charges from hits while rapidly discharging.” mean i cant gain crackling energy at all while its discharging or that i cant get any from hits specifically?

Loot Rewards
The overall chance for Unique Items to drop has been increased across all difficulty levels.

**can you please for all that is holy and unholy increase the rate at which you get multiple GA uniques off lair bosses based on torment difficulty giving the max % in t4. season 9 definetly showed that this is not the case. for some reason belial would drop lots of GA versions of uniques but the normal lair bosses themselves almost always gave no GA to 1 GA items. i think it should be garunteed that you get atleast 1 GA item per torment. with an increasing chance for additional GA by 15-20% per torment.

the Greater Bosses, Duriel, Andariel, and Harbinger of Hatred,

**i think every player will agree with me when i say this but for the love of the mother lilith…please stop forcing players to go through phases on these bosses. we would much rather you increase their health 8x then force us to go through phases. you know how annoying it is to clear t4 content, go help a friend kill t1 lair bosses and still have to wait through phases when you can 1 shot the boss? legit find something other then forced stop measures. give them a barrier for their health, do literally anything but force us to slow down and go through phases for no reason what so ever. if i can 1 shot duriel…let me 1 shot him. and seriously need to nerf andariels flaming skulls. there are so many things going on in that fight and those skulls 1 shotting players is BS. it should be burning damage not nuking damage.

Lord Zir
Added
Vox Omium
Orphan Maker(New Item)

**you missed an N in Omnium.

Fixed an issue where Bone Duster’s Aspect did not benefit from the Increased Bone Prison duration tempering affix.

**can you also please fix the fact that if i want to recast bone prison that i have to “disperse” my current one. this was a remnant from the old bone prison that prevented allies from passing through or catching them in it. and is no longer neccesary. its 99.9% more likely you need to recast the bone prison rather then destroy the old one. so please stop making me have to press the skill three times just to cast a new one…

**can you replace/remove the attack power stat display from the character screen. as this doesnt really display anything useful or helpful.

**can you please add a combat damage log or the ability to enable an advanced damage tracker like damage meters. that way players can actually analyze where their damage is and how hard each thing is hitting…this would greatly enhance players experience.

**please allow more HUD customization options.

**please let us assign different colors to different skills combat text to allow us to better track our damage sources.

**please let us craft more powerful tributes or something. the amount of tributes received are unable to be used entirely. like if i have 10 magic rune tributes let me combine them to get a rare rune tribute, and make a legendary one if i get 10 rare rune tributes. or something like that kinda like how we can gamble runes to increase their rarity. let us gamble to get tributes of ascendence. players would absolutly love that.

It used to proc off elemental damage, thereby achieving what you’re asking for. They purposely changed it to the current functionality to require you to actively cast the elements for the bonus.

This feels nitpicky. I read and understood it just fine… and it seems like you did too.

This is also clear. Esadora’s gives a chance to refund a crackling energy charge when crackling energy hits an enemy. You cannot gain crackling energy charges this way, while rapidly discharging via Esadora’s.

The nerfs are in preparations for the seasonal powers. This is why balance in this game can’t be consistent. The developers adjust the power of skills, aspects and uniques to fit the season then next season they have to fix what they changed last season when the new seasonal powers come. It’s a never ending cycle of power shuffling.

No wonder balance teams can’t do their job right and test things. They have to do the same work 2 times every season and then adjust the additions to that season.

Real simple. Same reason why we get new broken builds every season or two.

Marketing and promotion.

Lamer partners needs a new OMG it does barbillions of damage build to promote themselves and the game. Does not work if its the same build every season.

Ever notice the new cosmetics for the FOTM build and sales are items no one wants?

Let’s hope this mentality fades away along with Rod who?.

It is needed as you demonstrate multiple times in this feedback when you don’t realize what you see as a nerf is them just shifting power. For example, Sever saw a decrease in skill damage but an increase in Aspect multiplier.

The new Wither is designed that way to make it average 60% damage increase which is reasonable.

It is a buff/nerf depending on the build you play. It’s a pretty good buff to shadow minion/direct damage builds, but a nerf to shadow DoT builds.

It’s completely unreasonable in a game as fast as this to get nothing 80% of the time.

Barring even that, such a method goes against the game’s inherent design. Until you get to the point you’re pushing Pits (purely for the sake of pushing them) then you’re always killing at the same speed. It’s not a game about difficulty, it’s about progression, only moving up in tiers when you’ve progressed enough to manage it.

That means you have to be able to kill that fast during the 80% window, making the 20% when you do get a spike overkill. This changes during the rugby scrum that is Pit pushing when such a low odds but high rewards power spike has actually time to be relevant.

It’s currently only used in shadow DoT builds, and the change makes it usable for other shadow builds. You can continue to play shadow non-DoT builds “the old way” without it.

Overpower only proc on some attacks unless the build has constant guaranteed OP like Pulverize with Rotting Lightbringer, does that mean OP is unusable outside such builds?

The answer is obviously no.

Don’t like it? Don’t take it.

so you missed the point of a couple of my questions. im aware tal rashas used to work off damage rather then casts. im specifically talking about if i choose an enchantment like if im a lightning sorc and choose a fire and ice spell such as ice armor and fireball for my enchantment slots and those are triggered then i should get credit for it being “cast”

the clarity im asking for on the 10% damage is just language so it is a bit nitpicky but wording in this game matters alot more then some think. i make odd non meta builds that do T4 so clarity is a bit point when your experimenting. i can give examples.

the question in regards to crackling energy is actually specific. so it says you cannot gain charges while its discharging. but it refers specifically to generating of crackling energy via specific means from the way i read it. not from other means such as chain lightning crits if you choose one of the paths for chain lightning. or ball lightning which can generate 2 crackling energy anytime its cast. can i not collect those 2 balls till its fully discharged? or is only the refund what i cant regain?

No i didn’t. When they changed it, they specifically moved away from passive activation to manual casts.

There’s no reason to think you can’t collect crackling energy.

Apart from the new Esadora’s, we don’t gain crackling energy charges from hits. It is generated and we pick it up.

What does this mean?

someone here got the link for the PTR patch notes?

If you actually read the post rather than just arguing, you’d see why it’s only situationally “useful”.

I don’t really care if you, or anyone, takes it. Just explaining why people justifiably don’t like the change.

The fact is a lot of buffs don’t matter in trivial content outside pits, aka the overworld activities, but you still take them.

Do enemies in the overworld other than Lair Bosses actually live longer than one second for Frailty to stack to the full 40% damage increase? No, they often die before you even curse them.

Do they live long enough for Gloom to be fully stacked on them? Maybe sometimes. Does it matter? No.

Do you still take those buffs if you play shadow Necro? Yes.

If you actually think about how things work in the game you’d realize your argument is completely moot.

I think what they do is they get a big board with everything build that people were playing the previous season and throw darts at it. Wherever the dart lands is what they decide to Nerf or change. There’s no rhyme or reason to any of these changes.

this would be great!

I hate that if i want to link something to someone, i have to move the item to the first column (far left)in my inventory otherwise if its in the 3rd of 4th column, i cant engage the chat window

it would be nice if i could move my character sheet to the far left or the chat window to the other side of the screen

Guess we do need another PTR for spelling check …

This is another nonsense nerf. Why nerf a skill that was severely weakened after “overpower adjustment” of season 9?

They could explain why these decisions.

they nerfed tal rasha…
the main source of sorcerer offensive power
time to skip this season.
this devs NEVER learn!!

I mean, I don’t do that sort of thing because I’m nothing but a friendless, anti-social troll living under whatever bridge I can find, but … like … what??? Is that really & truly true??? Because if it is … /superduperdoubletriplefacepalmheaddesk :frowning:
