I do not agrre with this at all , its a slap in face to solo players , but we heard it directly from them they are doing this for the console people as they said those players who will play d4 on game pass aparently wont be used to such a solo thing and this is there main reason for it( which I personally think is BS)
if i cant do it solo then thats a shame i guess there will be POE 2
As a solo player you are getting an entire expansions worth of content. You are getting:
A new class
A new map with multiple zones
A new timed infernal hordes activity
A new campaign
New dungeons
An entire leveling process overhaul
A mercenary system
And much more.
But… Because you can’t solo the Dark Citadel it somehow means Blizzard has forgotten about solo players?
You are making wrong conclusions. The number of solo players is high because of the way how the game is created. Without a party finder it’s too inconvenient to form a group with random people. I bet even I am considered a solo player in those statistics. The party finder looks great and I will use it to group up, not interested in the coop mechanics though.
(Do you know why I don’t play PvP? Because it sucks. I want to play PvP, but it sucks. → In the statistics I appear as a PvE player.)
Diablo has always been solo optional multiplayer. If you could solo Dark Citadel there wouldn’t be an issue. But they have actively said your solo. EAD
And D4 remains solo with optional multiplayer. So far we know the Dark Citadel will give you cosmetics and one temper reset scroll per week. So essentially your missing out on ONE temper reset scroll per week while having a small chance to get it from monsters outside the citadel.
To break it down even further, the temper reset scroll let’s you reset a single item only once.
This isn’t going to set your build back by alot. You mentioned in another thread that you don’t even 12/12 MW your gear or aim for a single GA for each of your items. The temper scroll is probably the least beneficial item for you and you’re complaining about it the loudest.
If you don’t like Dark Citadel, the best thing you can do is not play it. I think they will be watching engagement with this mode very carefully. And if nobody does it, they’ll abandon it like they did Fields of Hatred.
Been playing diablo 1, 2 & 3 and you tell me game isnt for me? Your comments are pointless and tell to Diablo IV Team to make game great again instead!
Blizzard is basically pandering to people who want D4 to be isometric WoW. Seriously, now they’re saying that they want people to progress the Dark Citadel week after week? Seasons don’t last that long. By the end of week 2 there’s barely anyone playing.
Your logic is flawed. People play solo because there is 0 reason to play in group beside uber bosses. I would like to play with other people if there is reason to.
I play solo but don’t mind joining a party when there is an opportunity to do so. Was relieved when I learned that despite being online only, D4 would give me access to all the game content as a solo player. That has been the case so far.
I don’t care for the cosmetics or even the re-tempering scroll. If the group only content is just a dungeon in VoH, no problem. Maybe I will give it a try using the group finder, maybe I will just skip it. If it’s a substantial part of the Xpac with the goal of shifting more the game towards a MMO, I guess D4 is not any more a game for me. I will not purchase the expansion.
Why would you already have bought the expansion though.
It is a disgrace that Blizzard are refusing refunds for some people (and should be illegal). But at the same time, people who preorder primarily have themselves to blame.
The rewards are mostly irrelevant tbh.
It is the content that matters.
I could sign up for that.
Magicka “co-op” was something.
From everything we know about soloing in A-RPGs, and probably games in general, that is not broadly accurate.
the fact that it is PAID content is a huge factor. If it were added as a seasonal mechanic it wouldn’t be a big deal. The main problem to me is that Blizzard is basically asking as much as 80% of the player base to accept a poor value on their expansion purchase.
My advice is to wait until 2025 to buy the expansion, and cancel any preoders. Push the revenue into the next quarter and the devs will have to explain to higher management why the expansion sales were bad. That should be enough to get them to reverse course.
