D4 Server Lag Isn't What You Think

Ppl are lagging in D4 because there are crappy connections between them and the servers. I signed up for one of the popular route optimization services and I can finally sit down and just play the game. The D4 servers are working just fine.

Oh yeah, if that worked for you, THAT MUST BE THE REASON. Thank you inspector gadget, let us know when you pass lvl 35.

Weird. Wonder why we didn’t have these issues during early access. Surely though it’s our side right?

I definitely lagged in the beta.

I’m taking about early access not beta.

It’s their side and it’s not going to get better. Hate to break it to ya.

I’m not lagging now, so enjoy your denial.

The game still lags and stutters here in SKorea. Enjoy your placebo effect.

Placebo is a hell of a drug.

for a 200 stops route its as much as the game per month.

seems like a scam to me lol

*nvm, thats about actual routes on actual roads.

all of the google results are about that so far actually

seems like “route optimization services” is an unpopular business when it comes to computing.

Denial of what? There’s nothing to do deny. There was no lag in early access. Release hit. There’s lag. Simple.

I have a really good rig with a 3060TI and 32 GB ram with a heavy processor thats overclocked.

I also have high speed internet at 500 MBPS which is enough to handle streaming from multiple devices and keep a stable connection without latency interference.

My MS is usually clocked at 7-12 in any game I play.

The D4 servers are absolutely horrible for me, there is frequency in rubber-banding, massive stuttering, and sometimes the client just flat out freezes sometimes.

So your position is that we have to sign up for a 3rd party service to play the game, and that all lag and rubber banding issues will be fixed by that because it helped you?

I have a very similar setup to you, same DL speeds as well.

I have never lagged due to the servers.

Sure I get the occasional rubber-band when I switch zones and it pulls hard on my connection, but that lasts a second at most and its back to smooth sailing.

All these people screaming lag lag lag… there has to be an issue somewhere from point A to point B. OP is 100% correct in saying that an optimization service will help the vast majority of the people having problems.

D4 is not the first game to have these problems. PoE, XIV, LA, WoW, etc etc all have these issues depending on your connection and data route to the server.

This is not a new thing. Why are the D4 players acting like it is and acting like its Blizz’s fault?

Its not Blizz’s fault. Its not the players fault either. Its the connection that you have to the server itself.

You all need to learn a bit before losing your minds and throwing blame everywhere when you don’t know what you are talking about.

Stability for me improves significantly when I disable crossplay.

Why does everyone assume Blizzard is faultless?

PoE, XIV, Lost Ark, WoW all addressed latency issues by installing more servers. Like all of these examples you list increased numbers of servers and/or added new datacenters and/or allowed server xfers or all of the above.

I didn’t know it was my responsibility to buy Blizzard more servers.

You all need to learn a bit before losing your minds and throwing blame everywhere when you don’t know what you are talking about.

Low self awareness here.

Tell me how to turn it off harder

indeed since you didnt comprehend a single thing i was saying and cherrypicked one tiny thing that you could strawman.

i studied a bit of networking.(not a professional i know basics) Yes this MIGHT be the case for YOU. but because its happening to EVERYONE. with DIFFERNET hardware. different ISP’s etc…

the common denominator is Blizzard.

thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

The game is unplayable for me. I have submitted 3 separate diagnostic tests to their tech support. I think this support ticket is going to stay open for quite some time.
