David Brevik was washed up and added nothing to Marvel Heroes. That game was also a terrible ARPG that would have died even sooner if it wasnt for the huge licenced IP holding it above water.

Not even close, Marvel Heroes had some interesting systems in the game and a solid gameplay loop…even if i cannot stand super hero culture

Marvel Heroes 2015 was a mediocre game at best. But it was actually fun. I do miss the mindless fun of Midtown Mondays. Anyone remember when The cow king (Brevik) would show up and do some crazy stuff with the players?

uhh, other than start the development of the game before getting a team and pitch the original idea to Disney, as well as regularly stream the content with his wife and update the community, and you know uhhhh…run the company.
You right, he did nothing and Blizzard does it better…clearly…oh wait…this game is a massive failure too that is held up by its IP and day 1 purchases.

I really wish they didn’t just close Marvel Heroes down for good. I wish they just opened it up and unlocked everything and allowed people to play it offline. I had so much fun trying out different heroes. That game introduced me to Squirrel Girl and I was a fan ever since.

Marvel Heroes was pretty fun. I never got too deep with it. It had so many characters you could play. Was fun just messing around a little here and there. Wish it was still around and I could have gotten deeper into the game with some of the characters.
Damn, so glad of you bringing up that game. D4 is totally a copycat of Marvel Heroes but worst in term of longevity. Marvel Heroes doesn’t need seasons to save the game. They do it by adding new character constantly so everyone starts at level 1 at the new character.
Marvel Heroes wasn’t perfect, but d4 is so obviously just waiting for the initial hype to die down so it can become a p2w trash game.
You don’t design, fully model, mocap and voice a character to run your cash shop if you’re not planning to exploit it as far as you can to make that money back.

Why did they have to close Marvel Heroes?
So many Indie ARPG’s are lot better then the Diabo games.
Much more focused on the players having fun and so much more build diversity.
Slormancer, Chronicon, Ghostlore, Van helsing. And even Grim Dawn is more fun with community based Addons. So weird that small teams can put out so much more gameplay.

The community managers and the way they dealt with community, having whitelisted players, shadowbanning, etc? One of the worst craps i have ever witnessed
I actually think their terrible community managers killed that game, since it reached Marvel ears and they refused to renew the license
LOL Marvel Heroes 2015 that game was kind of fun actually. I don’t know if it was better than D 4 but it was better than D 3 haha
