D4 has 13k CONCURRENT viewers on twitch 🍿

Finally, a game came out that’s more enjoyable to play than it is to watch!

Shareholders already got the report a week ago. Other than the reported sales which were well over a billion and well over 10 million units already they specifically stated that “Diablo 4 was still selling very well and is headed for breaking the series sales record previously held by Diablo 3.”

Nice one. Lmao.‎‎‎‎‎

Ive never understood the appeal of watching others play a video game. If I have that kind of free time, I would much rather spend it playing the game myself.

That is s factually inaccurate statement. S1 had ~7 million characters created.

It was not 7 millon players.

But it would be fair to assume at least 2 million players are playing off that number. I dunno how many people made alts for season 1 but I know my group I play with only has one each so I assume a lot of people are focusing on a single particular character.

Oh no not muh Twitch viewers…anyway.

Their excuse is that the game is built on same engine as D3. Even in D3 inventory space was apparently a problem, SMH. My question would be, in the 8 years developing the game, why not make changes to the engine so not everyone’s stash is loaded with each interaction?

First is twitch viewrship to go … then its the player base. No worries its all very logical.

There are some games that are really fun to watch, CS:GO and League for example are very fun to watch which is shown clearly through how many people watch their majors.

For the most part though yeah unless it’s someone who I actually like personality wise I’m not going to find their stream entertaining.

Some of the doomers on this forum are funny, it’s almost like this is the first seasonal ARPG you’ve played.

Don’t know if its the first but its the last blizz game I’m paying for

Who knows maybe they will soon transition into Free2Play model … or they might have to ROFL

D4 feels like a f2p game where someone forgot to put level boosts and uber uniques in the shop.

7 million characters is not 7 million players. It probably still has players in the millions but just sayin.

so true

(20 char limit)

So what if it’s even 800k+ accounts making 5x characters?

Just shows 800k+ people loves the game.

Man, you guys are trying to find even the slightest thing you can complain about in D4.

“Hur dur is not 7mill” Who the f cares how many characters or accounts! Just let it go!

Why does it hurt you so much seeing some people enjoy this game?

Yea I quit. I just can’t anymore. The insulting Campfire with no real changes or fixes to the game or Barbs. The massive amount of bugs to Druid companions where they don’t increase their dmg and werewolves get stuck in the air.

Solitaire is a better game then D4. At least it works. D4 is 1-2 years away from being a finished product and I’m not sticking around playing this Alpha version of it.

I hate to shatter your bubble, but most people don’t watch other people play video games in their spare time. 100k viewers or 10k viewers statistically it makes very little difference.

It does make a difference. People want to play an active game. If the perception is a game is dying or losing players then people won’t start playing it. Players want to start playing a game that is thriving not dying. People also want to see what builds or exciting going on in their game they do play.

If Twitch numbers are low players will use that as a metric on maybe the game isn’t that active or has in game issues. There isn’t much interest in that game so there isn’t a reason to play. It’s just what we do.

Right now the perception is that D4 is dying and can’t retain players. That means new players won’t start and existing players will continue to leave. This is why games die.

FYI - This is also why Blizz hides Subs now in WoW. If Subs go down the game is dying. New players see that so they don’t start playing while players leave cause others are leaving and it’s a feedback loop till the game is dead.
