Overall the game doesn’t feel like it adds anything new. Most if not all of the abiltiies were already seen before in previous iterations of Diablo. The problem therein lies that they’re all just worse versions of them. There’s no skill I look forward to playing with. Everything feels league of legends’d up so nothing is cool/fun. With all the legendary powers viewable in the Codex of Power, even if I had some or all of them, there’s no cool combo I want to build towards. Everything just seems mediocre at best assembling the “combos”
Melee is especially awful. There’s no reward for wandering into melee vs just playing ranged and on top of that the melee abilities actually just hit less hard than ranged. Are you going for a Tank archetype in this game but no healer?
UI stuff. This game feels like it was a hastily done console port. The whole UI and game was designed for console with nothing in mind for the PC player. Where’s my map overlay that’s been around since Diablo 1? Why can’t i turn off the minimap that just takes up a decent chunk of my screen real estate? Again with being unable to bind force move to certain mouse buttons in 2023? All the menus are full screen menus because console UX I guess? Having to click 5 times just to see what my character details are also seems like a giant miss. In D3 it was 2 clicks.
Open world seems stupid/pointless. Feels like a terrible attempt at a Lost Ark clone. None of the events really matter and were just bounties in D3 and we’re forced to do a rep grind. The waypoints are just in terrible places and it feels awful to traverse the world. D3 had convenient and plentify waypoints. I know we don’t have the mount yet but that doesn’t come until much later but how tf are u going to try and copy Lost Ark and not put in an Auto Run function?
Overall it really feels like D4 learned nothing from D3 and even somehow regressed despite many years of development. Not sure if it’s because you guys tried to make a console game first and just assumed that PC players would lap it up or if it’s just sheer incompetence.
