I don’t mind if eternal realm becomes infinite progression, but seasonal must still remain capped.
That’s why it needs to be in conjunction with a SSF mode. Cheaters are going to cheat no matter what, but in a SSF ecosystem their cheating is guaranteed to have no effect other SSF players.
If D4 goes to infinite paragon system,
I will leave and never come back like i did in D3.
Or maybe if they can hide it so people can’t see if someone is sitting on 10000000’s paragon.
If feel a lot sorry most people hate this that’s why D3 died.
for the record, D3 never died, and you meant to say “You don’t like the infinite paragon system”
Maybe you should learn to speak for yourself. You can learn from the post I make, I always state it is my own personal opinion, and I don’t use the word “we” or “Most people” like you have factual data that represent these people ?
It is simple, people who shares the same view as me will agree, those that differ will not.
Not everyone wants to play SSF. I want to play with my friends. So are you saying I should suffer from cheaters if I’m trying to climb the leader board with my buddies?
In my opinion they could do infinite paragon when they make a good curve of needed xp.
When you need 100 hrs from paragon 398 to 399, it will not matter if you can technically can reach 800.
Even on non-season there will be some (very few!) persons in 10 years who have paragon 800… and when you invested so many hours to level it up, maybe you deserve it a little bit.
I personally would love infinite progression. I don’t know how many more seasons I have left in me before burning out doing the same thing over and over again and infinite paragon would make playing a character on the eternal realm more worth while.
I would much rather grind until my character is absurdly broken on eternal and not feel like I’m wasting my time on an inevitable restart for what will eventually be the 5th/10th/15th time grinding the same paragon boards I’ve already done
I absolutely hate the feeling of being “done” in arpgs or MMOs with no reason to play
You can do play with whoever you want however you want.
Ppl dont want infinitive progression because they believe they cant compete. U dont have to compare yourself with streamers or dedicated players. If u wanna compete or compare yourself do so with your friends or ppl who put equal amount of gametime. If u not dedicated u wont be able to compete with the high end players anyway.
The future LB could be designed so that its only showing ppl close to your paragon or close to your gametime. Plenty of other games do that by putting ppl in different tiers.
Its even possible to cap stats in pvp. LA does that.
Using bots as a excuse. How about open trade? Arent bots alrdy abusing that to the max? Selling mats and items for real money. Still the d2 fanboys saying infinitive progression attracts bots while d2 are infested by bots.
Such hypocrites rly.
They could make a soft cap on it, but that’s not functionally much different from a hard cap and it denies players the satisfaction of being finished with a character. If it takes 100 hours from 398 to 399, then you are talking about at least 40k more hours to reach 800 and probably more like double that. At that point it effectively is already capped.
I think they should give us more time per level at the lower levels by flattening the curve up to 60. Let’s say they target 20 hours for 1-60 leveling for inefficient players. Instead of going from like 10 min to get from 1-10 to like 60 minutes from 59-60, it would be more fun to spend like 20 min from 1-10, 20 min from 11-15, 20 min from 16-18, and then slowly ramping from there until it hits 30 min/level at level 31 and just stays at 30 min/level the rest of the way.
That kind of redistribution won’t affect the blasters really, and it won’t get anyone to the cap slower, but it will make the middle levels more interesting to explore along the way.
Don´t you all realize paragon in D3 leaded to situation where gear almost didn´t matter and it was all about finding most effective way to farm exp? Or you even like it?
I don´t care about LB etc so it would not do anything for me but I don´t think competetive players should be excluded just bcs they don´t share acc or play 12h/day.
Imagine playing D4 12h/day… is that the kind of torture they have at that infamous Guantanamo prison camp?
You want bots? Here is how you get bots. Look at d3. zero trading, infinite paragon and a bot infested dump
You spelled botting wrong
That’s ridiculous. I can like the system without endorsing cheaters.
Braindead comment.
A lot of crime is only possible because of computers. Are you endorsing crime by liking computers?
A lot of injury and death is caused by car accidents. Does owning a car make you a fan of death?
No. I want to get to a point where my skill is largely irrelevant, so that I can facetank the most difficult content. I suck at this game, so unless it’s going to give me more power, I hit a wall every time.
I’d have to say a hard pass if it comes down to increasing player progression power. If it was just for a cool frame or cosmetics along the way sure. I get people love to have that infinite player progression but aren’t you doing the same thing over and over and over again and all your doing is reach the goal tape only to move it further and repeat the cycle? Now instead of chasing gear it almost feels like chasing XP.
At some point when it gets to much, they will need to continually introduce new world tiers, increase the floors of the pit, increase the bosses levels. Which they would probably introduce a new gear tier.
Ya know, if you want D3 just play D3. I have it on my PC but haven’t played it in over a year. D4 is NOT D3…that’s one reason I play D4.
In what way?
The D4 one at least allows for theorycrafting. The D3 one is just tiny incremental stat boosts, which eventually comes down to each level being, do I want a few more health or a 5% increase to damage when that is basically an insignificant portion of my output?
It works well in D3 but it’s incredibly boring and simplistic.
