Current Balancing Issue

While I don’t necessarily want to make a post asking you to ‘nerf a class (though it’s actually FIXING a class, how this made it to live, that’s another post in itself… TEST YOUR DAMN GAME!)’ I do feel rather disheartened at the moment.

I am a die hard mage / sorcerer player. So maybe it’s on me for refusing to play a ridiculously broken class (also please note I refused to play ball lightning when it was broken, because broken builds are just not fun). But I cannot help but feel demotivated when trying to push end game when it’s so ridiculously easy for one class.

The funny thing, I don’t even like playing OP classes / builds. I refused to play ball lightning when it was S+ tier because it simply looked boring. However it still makes me feel cheated when one class WILDLY out performs the rest, simply because there is not a reason for it.

I understand it’s a new class and you want to sell your product, but is this really how you want to do it? Compromising the integrity the future of your product?

I don’t want you to nerf them to the ground, but they do need to be reigned in. As a very geared Sorc I can comfortably farm pit 80s. Spiritborn of less gear quality than me are comfortably farming 100+ if not 150s.

It’s like Blizzard, as a whole just never learned how to balance classes / design proper class mechanics. There is ALWAYS an exploit or unintended interaction that just breaks their game and I do not understand why. I have made posts before indicating that I feel like your design team is doing it all wrong. You need to start with your END values. How much damage do you want each class to do in each type of variety (AOE, single target, DOT… etc) and work BACKWARD from that. It makes designing interactions INFINITELY easier.

If you even REMOTELY tested the Spiritborn you would have noticed the ‘unintended interaction’ months ago.

This started out as a ‘please balance your game’ and turned in to a ‘Blizzard is bad at math’ post… But I suppose they are related.

Please fix your game. It’s really killing my incentive to play and to a point making me regret buying the expansion.

SB will be brought into balance in S7. Its blizzards shiny thing right now

I am aware, I am fine with them being stronger than every other class for their release season. But doing 1,000%x damage? No, that’s just ridiculous and needs to be reigned in.

I’m so stubborn that I paid for the most expensive edition just to keep playing Rogue in the expansion. Like you, I can clear Pit 80 efficiently. After the hotfix, I crafted the Shroud of False Death and tried different setups to push further. But then I realized—why bother theory crafting when I could just roll a Spiritborn and easily hit 150? So, I’m taking a break from Rogue for now. I’m low on iron chunks anyway, so I’ll switch to Spiritborn to farm mats.

It’s ridiculous how over powered their new toy is. Blizzard is known for buffing new classes in all games… to alleviate the learning curve, and prove that people will play their “new toy” as you call it.
The problem really lies in that they not only have that class boosted to god like levels, but they have severely nerfed the original 5. By this time in the season I’d be quite fine doing pit 100. i have all my mythics for my “S Tier” build, and mostly masterworked. But instead i can slow push an 80. Clearly I’m no pro, but that is still a diminished result comparatively.

Blizz wants to capture FOMO. Just have fun with the class this season cause it will get the nerf hammer hard in S7

I don’t like playing crazy OP classes. It’s boring and ruins the game for everyone else.

There’s literally a fireball build hitting for billions of damage.

SB is popular and getting attention because it’s new. It’s not that much stronger than other classes if you use similar meta tricks.

Monks hit for trillions+. I am actually currently fireball build, I generally play ice spike because I enjoy it, but that build is literally like cutting paper with a kleenex tissue right now.

While fireball may be S tier (even though the bil+ damage is not frequent at all, it’s a random proc of which the cause is unknown). Most of spiritborn is S+++++++.

Easy clearing level 150 pits while most classes can’t even get to 100 without min maxing and hard focusing is just ridiculous.

Just made a SB last night to test some stuff

Found myself casually having a fair fight with blood maiden in penitent at level 33, not even with good gear by any means…so…yeah…

At 35 i can wear uber uniques and already have 2GA tyrael’s and 2GA heir of perdition from my nec…also got a 3GA (Yes 3) shroud of false death but i don’t even know if it’s needed or not, i will give it a try anyway since looks like everything still works fine on that thing, i literally put on random sht straight from the ground and still facerolled mobs all around

Oh and at level 33 on SB i have more mobility than my 200% mov speed 253 paragorn necro, base skill teleporting you around, how bout that

The vast majority of SB builds don’t get anywhere near trillions or even billions of damage. This is not the first time a ridiculous build has been found and taken advantage of by players to push further than the devs expected. If you don’t like playing broken meta builds, don’t play broken meta builds. All classes can easily clear all relevant content in the game and have a build that smashes through T4 with ease. Generally speaking, people aren’t meant to be smashing through T4 with ease though, many things are going to be nerfed next season.

It is designed to be a superior class even without bugs. Has the mobility like a sorc & rogue, permanent shield like sorc, permanent unstoppable without any skill. More tanky than a barb, all skill has close to no cool down without Shakro. Blizzard designed Spiritborn based on the characters in History Channel TV Series Ancient Alien :thinking:

What are you talking about? max move speed increase is 200% for all classes. SB doesnt have any other special mobility things that outperforms 200 movespeed now that evade is gone.

You sir are out of touch when classes need to efficiently farm 105’s to max their glyphs and classes that are min maxed to hell can hardly do 110’s.

I’m talking about having more mobility on a crap (Now level 34) spiritborn than on a maxed out necro with 200% mov speed, can you even read?

I can literally teleport all around at will with a base skill lol

I can relate to both of these as someone who has played Sorc from launch till S4 and only use BL for the AoZ which was balanced around broken builds. I did not use it in S2 even though it was in my theorycraft before the season…because I knew right away it was broken.

The 2nd statement I have said this many times on here. The sad thing is if it launched with SB just balanced with everything else, or slightly better…no one would be upset.

But now everyone playing something else is upset, and when they nerf it next season the SB players will be upset.
Just a good way to upset EVERYONE and really bring your integrity and long term goals for the game into question.

They think they are being clever…but really they are just bleeding players and many will not come back.

As for balancing SB inseason, I personally don’t care I have not been impacted by them being at higher stages than me, mostly because I dealt with crashes for the first 4 days and that was more annoying. And honestly (in T3 currently almost at 4 on Druid) I end up picking more of them up off the ground than anything. My build or playtime is not suffering because of them, probably because I started off behind due to week 1. I also turned off trade chat for stability. The game still has some issues but SB is not one for me.

But I do understand where you are coming from and this company really needs to care more about their game.

Which skill lol? The soar teleport is delayed. You walk faster with good movespeed. There is no other teleport skill in SB arsenal. I dunno what you are referring to.

Have you measure how far the delayed soar travel? It is almost entire screen. You can move faster than that ? It can follow up by the dash from Ravager for further distant. The evade meta build created by Wujido is gone, it does not mean no cdr evade is gone. Just the animation breaking is no more. It does not stop anyone creating their own no CDR evade build. Just you don’t get to copy from the streamers as they all focus on Orange build now.
