Convert unspent glyph upgrade points to obducite

After every glyph is at 100, convert the unspent points to obducite, we earned obducite in the pits in previous seasons, put it back in blizzard, the 30-40 level grind to 300 with no rewards is painful enough.

Let me add one more: when capped on a mat, turn it into gold on pickup.

Would be a great change…

hmmm but you only to Pits to level your Glyphs to 100. Thats the purpose of Pits

After that You are forcing yourself

yeah, but look at it this way…

past pit 75 (yes, that early) the rest of the game is pretty much a 1 shot everything on the screen. so higher pits are the only “challenge” left.

what OP is asking is for some extra rewards when there’s not much to be gained (and the reward that’s given is absolete)

Some people like to challenge themselves by reaching the highest tiers of the Pit. I see nothing wrong with the OPs request. If they’ve maxed out every glyph, the only thing left for them to do would be to play the Masterworking game.

I LOVE this idea!!!

Turn it into something else…mats, gold, Obducite whatever…

What i suspect is that the OP has choosen a youtube meta build… whelp now stick with boredom what can i say?

Next Season he will ask for Pit 200 and guaranteed 4GA Mythic drops on final Boss because he already got capped Obducite.

Or he will ask for a Torment 16.

the devs are probably well aware that many players are getting bored because the game is going so fast, players end up with nothing meaningfull left to do.

i’m just doing my own thing (ended up with a metabuild i think but didn’t use any guide and just did what i do every season and that’s just playing the game and trying stuff i find) now i’m trying to see how far i can go into the pit seeing that’s the only thing i have left to do on this build.

but there’s also other classes i can start now (haven’t ever played a barb or a druid in D4 yet so, for me there’s always something new to do)

but i do understand your point, we see it all the time on these forums. people copy/paste a meta build and then start complaining they are bored after a week because the game is too easy. this happend in D3 and i’d say it even happend in D2.

they think the devs need to fix this problem while the solution is there… play something else and stop using guides. there’s a crapton to do in the game if you stop focussing on “end game”
go replay the campaign, go do sidequests (wich 99% probably didn’t even bother doing, myself included) try making “crap” items work or whatever… save your build and start from scratch wich has been made so easy now.

but offcourse there’ll inevitably be a time where they need to add higher difficulty because of powercreep. might have reached this point a bit soon but we’ll see what the devs come up with.

Yeah, this is the proper take. It’s because this is false:

If you’re there grinding for experience the reward is the experience you’re grinding for.

This trend of demanding more than your target goal behind your behavior is, if it picks up, toxic to the game. This direction that we’re headed in is almost guaranteed to result in a mashup of one activity being the sole activity worth pursuit which is just unhealthy. The next natural step for this is to just convert extra points into anything you need versus just obducite.

Just wanted to thank you. Transistor is amazing.

No after a certain point it’s pretty much the only way to get xp and paragon levels.

Being the most efficient way doesnt mean its the only way.

We are playing a game to have fun and there are no Leaderboards. There is no financial prize for Paragon 300 or special Cosmetic.

Paragon XP carry over to eternal so in 2-3 Seasons everyone will reach Paragon 300 on Eternal eventually just by playing casually and get the title.

Just saying. I respect how people want to play and their decisions tho.

Not only for a challenge, but it is nice to help level others and would be nice to get rewarded with using your unspent glyph xp for something useful.

So why are you in here being negative about ideas on how to improve the game for others?

WHY obducite? If the grind is that bad just turn it into extra XP so getting to 300 is easier!

I would rather the pits have all build related and resource related items removed and a leaderboard attached with a reward system. Just as well, I would like glyph xp moved back to nightmare dungeons with obducite. Now, if the unspent glyph xp turns to obducite at the end of a nightmare dungeon? I could get behind that. I also liked how nightmare dungeon 100 used to feel when they were somewhat difficult, as opposed to what it is now, too bad thats gone.

I have done my own build for multiple seasons and I have used a build guide from various sources because I am old and don’t have much time left, I can appreciate both.

I would not ask for a pit 200 because wasting 10+ minutes to big D it for no real gain is ridiculous, especially since there is no official leaderboard.

I don’t care about 4ga mythic drops because usually focusing on 1ga out of the 4 works fine especially since you can only orange 1.

I would not ask for a torment 16 because I understand the game works around speed so we can gamba for purps and masterwork, not wasting time for the final stage. Time sinks were popular in mmo’s I get why they do it, it’s not needed anymore, engagement is fine atm.

I ask for the obducite because spending the time to get the orange on every item is the longest grind (second only to getting to 300) due to the bricking of items, masterworking is where the game goes, getting the GA on the stat you want and working it to orange is the end game, spending the majority of time in the pit because that is where the xp is, and we had obducite in the pits to begin with, not a fan of taking away or breaking toys that were there in the first place.

Hope that clears up whatever confusion or issue you like to put on others that you don’t understand.

SOJ has been in the Diablo game for 27 years, probably longer then you’ve been alive, not bored.

Well there are people already paragon 300…so would be nice to give something useful to them as well.

After paragon 300 no one touches pits anymore there is 0 point in being in there.

So I guess you never change your build that might require a different glyph?

Or you never help friends level up their toons or their glyphs?
