Should be plug and play
I use DS4Windows, I think I had to for Elden Ring, haven’t tried for D4. Very easy to use free software.
Only issue I had was I had to go to DS4Windows Settings and check “Hide DS4 Controller” option for whatever reason. Put that program in the startup apps list for Windows and forgot about it
Plug it in a press a button on the controller. GUI switches automatically.
Forgive my ignorance what is GUI
Can’t use a controller in a PC game. Our society has not evolved to the point where this technology is possible. I think you (OP) are being gas-lighted…or cat-fished…one of those things.
Lol thanks for the input goat, absolutely appreciated and I may reconsider my ways - nothing wrong with Mouse and Keyboard - just heard it feels good with controller and figured I could give it a shot but had no idea how to go about jt
I use steam to connect and optimize controller settings Under games tab there is something like add games not in your libarary - there find the game directory and should be all set. A little more complicated than that but it’s something like that.
Graphical user interface
Go into settings and Bluetooth in your pc and hit add device. Then hold the little button to the left of the middle pad, as well as the PS button at the same time for a few seconds and the pad will start flashing meaning it can be paired to your pc. Then click the ps5 controller on your PC. It is paired then.
Or you can just plug it in with the cord and play wired without pairing
I sure hope goat is trolling. Because he is verifiably wrong.
If you’re using a modern operating system such as Windows 10 or 11, it’s as simple as Plug and Play… older ones probably would have required the installation of some drivers (or even none being available, but given we’re talking in the Diablo IV context, there is no need to develop, the answer is “yes it will work fine”).
I played all 3 betas with a PS5 controller on PC and it worked great. I had to use DS4Windows on Windows 10, but it took literally 2 minutes to set up.
My friend was able to use his PS5 controller on Windows 10 without any additional software. I’m not sure why mine wouldn’t work. Perhaps a driver issue. Either way, opening DS4Windows takes 5 seconds.
Confirm! Totally change the gameplay feeling. If you like action game play style so it is for you
I test it 1st time myself in beta slam : That was great, really! I want now to use it without cable (blutooth) on a 4K 55" TV (I use a gaming laptop). It should be something.
D3 was lack in this but for D4 controller is something natif. Just make sure Windows recongnize properly the controller, in my case there is nothing special to setup (no driver or program or gui…). Exept if you want to custom your own buttons.
Same here too.
PS : I use StreelSeries Stratus+
Probably like how it is in D2R. It’ll detect it as a PS5 controller if you plug it in. The bluetooth driver for non-XBox controllers is DirectInput instead of XInput. DS4Windows is the right choice for bluetooth. My advice, though, is don’t. Get an XBox controller. PS5 controllers deplete their battery very quickly. XBox controllers go quite a long time on 2 AA batteries.
For emphasis and further clarification. This free program essentially makes your Windows PC think that your PS5 controller is actually a Xbox controller and work for any game. So it will allow you to just plug in and play it as alot of games (unless you are playing on Steam) the PS5 controllers don’t work. So if you want to force your PS5 controller to work because you like it more, the program is a really easy work around to make it work 100%.
I won’t be using a controller for Diablo 4, but if I was, this is what I would use.
Quick question - Why?
Search for dualsense controller update app. It’s either on Microsoft or Sony website. Basically updates firmware of it. And just plug it
While it is just plug and play or pair and play on Steam.
Blizzard client does not support PS5 controller without something like DS4Windows
But you can always try plug and play first, maybe Blizzard has updated their stuff.
