Controller on PC question

I’d like to try controller playing.

But i feel like a lot of things will be more annoying.

Like just looking around/targeting, the chat and just navigating menus.

Would be nice to avoid the constant click to move tho now that they refuse to enable wasd

I think for some characters it is harder like Sorceress…
But I will give it a try when my Kontrol Freeks get here, who knows maybe it is better??
I like KB and mouse though and I don’t need WASD for this game.

Good question - honestly it’s just to see how it feels, if I’m on a late night grind it might be more comfortable to recline the chair slouch back with a controller in hand than posture myself at the desk with keyboard and mouse - nice to have options is all

Controller is great for the gameplay. You can lock on target with the controller as well.
I only really use kb/m for inventory manage and menus. Seamless switching gives you the best of both worlds.

Exactly as said, for some characters (Sorc and Necro) I prefer use the keyb and mouse than controller.

Same here. I use a wireless keyb with trackpad.

So just to clarify what has been said:

You can use the PS5 controller by wired connection. And you can download the app “Firmware updater for DualSense wireless controller” from sony’s site to update the controller firmware. But it still is only going to work with wired connection and no bluetooth.

or

You can download the ds4 app and use it with bluetooth without doing anything else.

or

You can load the game through steam and use the controller through bluetooth.

Is that right?

just with a usb cable connection, not wireless

is there any way to start d4 in steam without using a steamdeck?

I use DualSenseX - the free (non-steam) version.
It works nicely.
And Diablo will show you the proper buttons for which ever emulation you choose (xbox or ds4).

i tried it and it works like ds4. i just got the xbox controller overlay with the settings for the ps5 controllers overlay.
