Code 52? ban? only campaign

I think that it’s because being able to differentiate between a harming and a non-harming application is pretty much impossible, so the safest way is disallowing all that interact with the game, even in an overlay mode.

When you run past mobs in a dungeon they’ll eventually be spawned in on top of you, it will say something along the lines of “a horde has arrived”. Unless there’s something else here I’m not seeing, I think you’re misunderstanding the mechanics of the game.

Hello fellow 40’s enjoyer! I honestly miss the days of MUDD’s sometimes.

And yes, they all want to be famous and be somebody without realizing all the crap that comes with it.

Ok. Thanks for clarifying. I didn’t know what I was looking at.

The amount of money you can make playing games is enticing. I have a friend who averages around 1000 viewers and he gets consistent offers of 60k - 90k to play a game for 6 hours on stream.

Most people do not realize that it’s a hyper competitive area and requires a ridiculous amount of mental fortitude and determination, along with a lot of luck, to be even remotely successful.

I prefer the quiet life. Happy with my job and my lot.

Bypassing dungeon lockout timers which are normally 10 minutes without boss kills and farming bugged mobs.

Yes. It’s exploiting. Yes. It’s cheating

Kinda related but a bit off tangent (and we are probably just making assumptions for the ban), but I always wondered why for D3, they didn’t ban TurboHUD users which is an 3rd party map overlay by reading the game memory to do so.
I mean maybe they did issue bans but there were MANY users and Blizzard is not transparent about it but it would have resulted in an atomic bomb of bans if there was.

Probably because that game was tailored more for single player greater rift runs. Diablo 4 seems more open world.

Meh I’d say it’s exploiting but cheating infers you’re using mechanics that aren’t available to other players. I expected stuff like this to be available with how people play ARPGs. Just about every worlds first race in gaming has issues with exploiting unintended game mechanics.

Really? They said in the Dev Livestream before Early Release that reset when you kill all the mobs would be 60 seconds and reset when you don’t kill the boss will be 120 seconds.

Did that end up not happening? I have not tested yet. Is there any message you get in game telling you how long the wait is on that dungeon if you try before it resets?

Given that people can port to town in a Dungeon, sell/salvage items and not make it back without the dungeon closing, I’d say the 60-120 second rule is in place.

However, the method used by streamers is with groups, not solo. It works differently there. Not sure I want to post the details here but it can be done instantly and repetitively with a group.

Enjoy your ban cheater!

The funny part is this is effectively a single player game.

They said somewhere that dungeons could be reset by changing party lead. I posted about it in April. :woman_shrugging: Not sure if they still want that or not, but it was intentional at one point.

Blizzard TOS is not that long and it is interesting and everyone should read them from time to time. the only one i say is one where you have too much time on your hand is Apple TOS. that is a novel series by itself. and yes i have read that while overseas will not read that one again.

that method is one of hot debate as it is exploiting a system against the original design of the game. and yes players have used it benefit for it (HC 1k to 100 run). so it is a well known exploit of the game intended use.

I live in the US. Cope harder.

I’m actually curious.

When Diablo 4 introduces an overlay of their own (which at this point is nearly almost a given due to the sheer amount of players wanting 1 plus the clear disruption opening the map ever 5 seconds causes.) Will all those people who used that overlay from a third party be unbanned?

Because it would seem incredibly odd to have a rule against something that then becomes a feature in a game and then keep them banned.

On a completely different note. I’m glad i decided to check the forums before even touching any overlays because now I know it apparently can get you banned.

The idea that you add a transparent map overlay feature that will eventually come to the game can get you banned is kinda wild.
