Code 52? ban? only campaign

Banned for using overlays? Nooo….

laughs in TurboHUD

it’s not just because of the overlay, Diablo has been rife with overlay addons since the original “Mousepad’s Maphack” in D2 (which people also couldn’t figure out was a hack), and then “TurboHUD” in D3 - which folks also couldn’t figure out was a hack.

Diablo’s history with overlay addons is rife with ban waves…

Yes, they would still stay banned.

It is perfectly normal to WANT something I can’t have. It is normal to express that view on the feedback channels. To adovocate for it.

What is not ok is to break the rules to get it through an illicit means. It puts my account at risk and I know if I do it, I will very likely pay the price.

People can either wait until (and IF) Blizzard adds a map overlay, or put their account at risk.

I prefer not putting my account at risk because Blizzard does NOT unban people later.

Good morning all. Happy Sunday I think. Sending coffee wishes to all. (or whatever beverage you prefer).

Lol…

That’s just sad. Narcing on an overlay.

There is some… misconceptions about Mobalytics, since this was the main topic of this thread…

Mobalytics does not read Data at all… it does not check your spent points, it does not check what level you are, in fact it reads NOTHING from you or the server/client.

It’s an Overlay software that gives you the ability to see Builds in game, you have to provide what class you are wanting to look up, and after you do it will show you builds for that class.

From there you need to figure out what level you are, and how many points you should have/spent.

It’s… only… a builds overlay, the same as searching up “Necromancer Builds” on a browser and copying it. Nothing more, Nothing less.

I am currently waiting to hear back from some people to see if Mobalytics was even the real reason for the ban. But… I find it doubtful.
iirc - Mobalytics talks directly with Blizzard for this type of stuff, and they’ve gotten no notice of it not being allowed.

So, am I saying to go use Mobalytics? Negative… I am saying to wait, but don’t blame it.
Am I saying there’s an underlying issue though? Yes.

As always anything and everything you use, is at your own risk.

I will edit this to have Blizzard’s / Mobalytics reply on the matter.

Oh yes you did. Well not just to get banned you played a bit first using overlay software that breached the ToS…

You realize that it doesn’t have to interact the same way with every game, right?

Wait what? Mobalytics is a huge Diablo website endorsed by Diablo streamers and players. They are the biggest sponsors of D4. The reason Mobalytics is there is to help new players.

will I get f-ed if I will use msi afterburner to monitor pc performance? It’s in no way addon to the game but still an overlay

This is what is probably the ban action the OP is complaining about.

It doesn’t work with the game at all whereas what the OP was using appears to be helping out in the game specifically and Blizzard don’t like 3rd party software/addons to be used.

They are open. None are acceptable. The end.

I can report that the Activate Windows overlay doesn’t seem to bother blizzard in the slightest.

Stop parroting this bs. Back in Counter-strike 1.3 and 1.5, we had to run a client side anti-cheat called Cheating Death to join Cheating death enabled servers. Any cheats instantly froze your pc and forced you to hold the power button to shut down your PC. Instant action is the only action that matters. Modern anti cheat is USELESS. It turns cheating into a subscription model. People just buy a new Counter-strike license every 2 weeks with delayed VAC (Valve anti cheat) bans. I have completely stopped playing or buying literally any first person shooter game for many years now since not ONE company has the balls to deal with cheaters properly (Valorant did for a time, using kernel level anti cheat, but even they gave up and now it’s a cheat fest game like the rest).

As Hobbes said, if you ban them INSTANTLY they won’t keep buying the game every 2 seconds only to be insta banned. This delayed banning is a business model, so bots become an endless plague while pathetic developers and companies who don’t see the players like me quitting for good bleed real players in exchange for bots. Fun fact: Real players buy cosmetics on the stores, bots do not. The logical end result of current anti cheat methods is servers full of bots and no real players spending money on the store. At this point, game dies and the bots leave.

No one gets banned for overlays or anything similar.

A code 52 ban doesn’t mean you got banned for cheating, the actual reason will be in your email.

Everyone that comes on these forums and claims that ABSURDLY widely spread stuff like overwolf apps etc are what got them banned just try to somehow bs themselves out of their ban for an actual cheat/bot.

That sucks i don`t have any experience in this but best is to try make a ticket and explain what did happend.
Hope blizz understand.

If I launch diablo 4 through steam, open a browser on the steam overlay and load maxroll there it will be helping me out in the game as much as the app op was using. Should steam be bannable?

If you launch D4 through a launcher that isn’t bnet, then at best you should change your name to Lucy cuz you’ll have a lot of explaining to do when Blizz finds out.

But more generally and to answer your question, Blizz could literally come out tomorrow and say having FireFox installed on your computer is a bannable offense. And they’d be within their rights to do so. It’s their game, their rules. Either comply or uninstall, that’s literally what ToS and EULA’s are all about.

Now, you could try and FIGHT those policies, in court, under California law. And if you have a good enough lawyer and enough money and enough time and enough patience, and if the policies are as ridiculous as my proposed FireFox example, you might just win. But how many people are able to check off all those conditionals? How many people even have a retained legal council in the first place?

Blizz decides what’s bannable regarding behavior and interactions with their product. It’s no different from me deciding I don’t want people smoking in my car. You can take me to court if you want to, I really don’t care. You’re not smoking in my car. Deal with it.

You can open bnet through steam by adding it as a non-steam game.

And I can wear my underwear outside of my pants. Doesn’t mean it’s a good idea to do so.
