Character slot amount

Hello everyone.

did anyone try to see how much character slot we could use during Beta ?

actually, my main fear about D4 is that : the amount of slot.

In D2R there was definitely not enough , as soon as you played a few seasons , wanted holy grail or played harcore and wanted to try various builds you couldn’t due to the amount of character slot being too low.
(In Regular D2 there wasn’t this problem since as long as your CD-key was valid you could create unlimited number of account)

in D3 the amount of character slot was okay-ish but still could be better with more (atleast in my opinion)

but in D4…i do hope we’ll get enough character slot to play hardcore, season and regular without worrying too much.

and considering the respec might be expensive (which i don’t mind as long as i have enough char slot) i’d like to do , much like D2 , a summon necro , a bone necro , an elementalist druid , a bear druid and so on.
instead of merely only 1 druid.

hence my question.

thanks for your answer in advance

I think it was 10 per. The question becomes what happens as seasons go by and characters migrate to eternal?

Might have to be deleting some for new ones.

10 ?
for regular + season + hardcore a mere 10 char slot is nothing
that would be quiet sad
not even enough to do 1 gender type per class in a single mode

Unless you are making 10 characters per season, I don’t think it will matter much. I usually deleted seasonal characters after they hit normal realms.

for me personally it does matter , i only do one to three character per seasons.
the rest i let it in regular and hardcore.

also, i’d like to do a holy grail challenge in D4 just like in D2, though it’s unlikely to be possible i guess

They are going to sell you character slots like Lost Ark. They are going to sell you character boosts, like Lost Ark. They are going to sell you inventory slots, like Path of Exile. They are going to sell you bank slots, like Path of Exile. Expect everything to be monetized.

Strangely, I find myself more attached to my characters than their levels, build or gear. I hope there’s more rebirth quota (if rebirth is a thing at all).

that would be sad.
though depending on the price i would’ve bought char slot on D2R personally.
the rest…no thanks …

there isn’t.
personally i like my character too though i don’t want to delete them, atleast the few i’d like to keep outside of seasons

As for rebirth, well the only game i know that have such a thing is disgaea (which is an entirely different genre of game)
but if done well it can be interesting.

though, if it gives any stats boost doing it would go against their recent post about D4 not having infinite progression

Both betas had a limit of 10 characters.

[sorry it won’t let me post a link - stupid thing… :rage:]

Thing is that this might be limited at the beginning (I think D3 had a limit of 10 as well) and then expand to more slots as the game/seasons progress.

I doubt this one. The others, I agree with.

10 is way too few.
Try 50 next time Blizzard.

Do you expect anything different from this company? Technically everything I listed is not P2W. Character Slots, don’t give an advantage. Boosts, just accelerate leveling, but no real advantage. Inventory space and bank space, no real advantage. It will be just like the gems in Diablo Immortal, it will be a “technically”.

I agree it is a stretch, but look at WoW and their level boosts. I am guessing they will sell “EXP BOOST” “666% VALUE!” potions in the store.

Then they couldn’t monetize it.

I believe they have specifically mentioned that they wont. The only xp boosts in the game are in the free version of the season pass.

For now. We all know Blizzard doesn’t stick to their promises, especially when it comes to them making more money.

Are the 5% potions and 5% nearby character and 5% nearby character is a party member exp bonuses not exp boosts?

yeah but selling character slots and inventory space would be a new low for Blizzard. The sad thing about, it is very likely to happen.

They are specifically mentioning these things because of what happened with Immoral. I don’t think they realize how much people would be upset if they renege on their “cosmetics only” shop. Slots, stash, and inventory I can forgive. Inventory less so, but I’ll wait and see.

I honestly do not think they will care. Look at these forums, people will literally go to bat for all the things they went back on in WoW. They literally said things to the sum of “The old company promised that, the new company can change the rules” about Blizzard and being bought. Like the new Blizzard is not accountable for the old Blizzard statements.

Blizzard also does not care because they already got the money from the sale. Want to leave? Sure, means less we spend on infrastructure, who cares, we got your money already. People will bird brain it and just accept it whole sale like they do in every other one of their games. The current customers will spend the money, and the rest will be too fomo/sunk cost fallacy to leave.

Well, they could sell character slot #51 and so on.
Tbh, as long as there was a good amount of character slots by default, such as 50, I would be fine with them selling additional ones.

Selling #11 character slot, that would mean they lied, yet again, about their MTX.

They want people to keep coming for the MTX’s and the season pass though so it’s different now. They want as many people as happy as possible.

If you need more than 50 slots you have a problem.
