I honestly am not looking forward to , if you legacy or ruin our previous gear we got after season 4 I already deleted a bunch of gear. I farmed once because of this.pre season 4
Its the expansion. So yes stat squash and powercreep is in S6.
Oh look . Another eternal player not happy with the changes
Might be 13 of us now
How is there no item powercreep when literally every item of existence can be replaced with a more powerful version of that item.
Every season, they delete our efforts to drive us to depend on the Streamers to “copy the meta”. The game is engineered to generate click bait, not fun. They are going to kill this game by Season 8.
Except that now resists and armor on gear actually matter so you need to farm different stuff anyway. The higher difficulties are harder because of this.
I agree though that there should be more carrot on a stick when they add new item levels than just adding lucky hit chance to heal and the need to get resists. I also think i750 items should be equippable at lvl 50 so that they can convert old items to 750s (and so that it’s more fun to gear up an alt).
Maybe… I mean even there you are getting way higher penalties to resists and armor than you were in WT4. Are you saying that you are able to speed farm pit 50+ with your old gear or just assuming that it is possible with new gear?
Sure and maybe that all works - but were most people looking for GA on all res and +armor before? Getting to 185 total all res and 2000 total armor doesn’t seem like a simple task.
I don’t think this is a good idea and they won’t do it anyway. The other is a much more reasonable ask. The extra skill points from 50 to 60 are legitimately a new tier of power they are giving your character.
Sorry, Eternal dont matter to blizzared.
If you still cant realize that come S6, I’ll feel sorry for yall.
Why would I care when ilv 800 exists.
The items are far superior to what we cureently have. Ilv 800 is powercreep
Ilv 800 can go 12/12 everything else can only go 4/12. The stats on it are also right both dmg and armor. Ilv 800 you can have 2 tempers everything else you can only have 1.
So legacy gear could be better then i700 but not i800
I wont hold my breath hoping that the Dev goona give a damn about eternal.
But the 800 ancestral items roll even higher. Higher than current 925 gear from what I could tell.
When I get something ill let you know but if you dont think i800 will be better then legacy gear you maybe setting yourself up for disappointment.
Juat about to start playing ptr.
I did get lucky and got 3 ancestral drops in short order when I got to WT3. I have a feeling that number will go up though. The 540 items I had are still going strong though. I’ve only replaced a couple so far. Pit 53 was easy and I’m sure I can push into WT4 with still having them.
I know eternal players will still.cty bloody murder but the gear is certainly not useless.
I thought 800 is only for ancestrals, which always have a GA. The CDR range is 8.0-8.8 on ammys according to datamine. So it goes from the previous max to 10% more than that. The GA version is then 10% better than the old GA.
We also don’t know how they’ve changed the weights on affixes, if at all.
From my limited testing today, assuming Pit 100 now is Pit 200 before, I got comparable results with Pit 51 now vs Pit 105 before.
I am using legacy gear. 5 Paragon boards with 4 level 21 glyphs and 1 level 45 glyph. B/C tier build with Firewall/Firebolt.
There is definitely extra power that will come from the new board and glyphs. And once my gear has been replaced with 800 item power.
Torment 4 will soon be easy with this build in S6.
But since I will be playing Spiritborn, even Torment 6 will be easy lol
That’s what it seems like but doesn’t mean it’s right. It’s been said many times that D4 targets a more casual player (casual = eternal) … The “9-5 dad players” which cannot commit the time to lvl a fully geared end game main character every season (hence why eternal realm exists). These are the players keeping the lights on for the game. They buy the game and expansions, they buy the occasional skin for their main, they log in (for short bursts) sometimes daily…but realistically, more on a weekly basis to play. When they do, it’s with limited time to farm the meaningful character building content, like - boss mats and runs which is what you need to obtain build changing uniques/mythics.
It’s a tough pill to swallow when there is no love shown to these players and they are told…“oh well, just refarm all your gear that took months to acquire”. (twice now…from S3 to S4 and again S4 to S5) or to “just play seasonal and it wouldn’t matter”.
I’m one of these players, been playing since launch (eternal) and I’m still looking for replaments for my what are now “legacy” uniques. I was even lucky enough to have a Grandfather and Tyrael’s drop in S4…which felt fantastic, but now feels terrible because I can’t use them…well I can but not really. Took me a year to get those drops with the amount time I can dedicate to playing. I collected most of the uniques in the game which made it easier to put builds together, but now with s6 (patch 2.0) I might have to start refarming all of that again for a 3 season (update) in a row?? If mythics are max rolled anyways why could they have just applied the charges to them in the update. If you already have 1, let it be usable.
I love the game and love the changes, I think it’s all steps in a positive direct. Just asking for Blizzard to consider the impact it has on eternal players like me (which make up a large player base) who don’t want to lose the progress we’ve made. Find a way to rework our gear (fairly) so that it’s usable and updated…not bricked or turned into a useless “legacy” item.
Powercreep in some ways, certainly not in others. No more Barbillions. Weapon Damage is reduced by 86.5%. So they took power from one place and gave it to runes, skill tree, mercenary etc.
Yeah, that is not the case at all. Mekuna beat Pit100 with suboptimal gear. Its far from Pit200 equivalence.
So S6 pit levels is not half of S5. Spread the message.
I feel the boss got nerfed. In most of my runs with B tier build Sorc, the mob difficulty is almost comparable to the boss. Actually I feel I am more relieved fighting the boss now.
Before the PTR, going to the boss always give me a dread feeling becauee I know it’s gonna take a while to beat it.
Mob wise it feels correct (Pit 200 then is Pit 100). My previous build that works with Pit 105 also works with Pit 51 with similar difficulty.
But the boss isn’t equivalent. It feels much easier now.
Edit: It feels less annoying so probably that gives the impression that it’s easier?
