Changes to season six gear?

yes, they decided to rewamp loot every season patch basically, ignoring eternal players.
p.s.: seasonal play is for no lifers

No. Think for a moment, he did Pit 156 before in S5? There is a sh!t ton of scaling from there to Pit 200. Clearly Pit100 in PTR is not anywhere close to Pit200 in S5.

Powercreep does not refer to damage numbers.

Powercreep is when something gets introduced making the old obsolete. For example old shakos will be obsolete when the xpac comes out because il800 will be better.

Which stats on the ivl 800 shako got buffed?

I think the armor if compared to 540 but if compared to 925, I am not sure if it’s even a buff.

Correct. Its the same item.

It’s good to show these numbers, but we have to keep in mind that they’re relative to all the other things being changed in the game.

For example if a skill gets buffed (i.e. each rank is more powerful), but items give fewer ranks, then a skill with a lower rank may not be weaker necessarily. Even then monster level/stats and difficulty need to be taken into account as well.

If anything, the main issue I’m seeing in the PTR is that pit shouldn’t be gated around level, but rather one’s ability to solo the content of a pit.

Access to higher difficulties should make it easier to guage the new changes as a whole.

Yeah I can see that. A lot of people love their zoomies. Do we know if base movement speed was changed or if there are more sources for speed increases?

I doubt it. Feels like something people would mention.

Why the stat squish btw?

My theory (maybe it’s already officially stated by blizz?) is if we keep the current numbers prior to PTR, there’s no way to get upgrades on certain stats. For example if max CD is 75%, if we just keep the current number and everyone is already max out at 75%, what would the new gear provide in terms of CD? Anything extra becomes pointless.

So to make things valuable again, they have to rescale everything so we are still able to upgrade and not go beyond the 75% CD.

Again my theory.

Other than that to increase the number of Seaonal players and VoH purchases lol

my advice, dont waste your time on eternal.

Play another game.

Eternal is a rabbit hole far worst than season and It wont change in the foreseeable future. no Dev will be giving any attention in Eternal because even they know its a lost cause.

Idk if stats got buffed but the 300 armor you will lose matters when T4 has a -1000 armor penalty.

That is not what power creep is, sorry to tell you. Power creep is when something is so strong, the only way to compete with it is to continually create something stronger for a player to engage with. It creates an unsustainable game long term. Take tibaults will pre nerf, it was BIS. Only way to not create power creep was to nerf it to 20% from 40%. This way players would engage with new gear. If they had created new gear instead with 42% damage to compete with it, that’s power creep.

This is far from true. Do you really think paragon 330 was created for seasonal play? Have you played PTR? The progression for paragon points after 200 is extremely slow. You really think that change is geared with seasonal play in mind? Eternal may be 30% of their player base, but it is steady playing 30%. So please, stop spreading misinformation.

What they keep doing to eternal gear is really terrible if it is a ā€œplan to make them play seasonalā€

If not and the thinking is:

ā€œWe are giving you more room to farmā€ It is still bad. It is just a lazy way to fake like there is new content or things to do.

I understand the game needing to change. But they should keep more of a focus on fairness to the Eternal player realm as they are part of your player base.

This whole drama could have been avoided if they just made the legacy weapons max level in the new standard if they were max level before.
Or write a script that replaces legacy gear with current gear at the same relative level to the new standard.

This is not giving them something NEW to do. It is LAZY no matter how you slice it. Unless it is the first reasoning I listed, then it is just evil.

I play seasonal, and used to play on both back up to season3.

It’s the exact same.

The only thing that moved is monster power (decreased) so relative damage and armor are stronger.

Only for the very first character, then all of your alts are at the highest level of your first. So really you only need to level to 60 with new characters.

I am finding armor is the new DR, you want to temper it on to just about everything you can…and I am not even in Torment 4 yet.

And you still need to level paragons. So even if you leveled to 60, got to 210 paragon that’s all you get unless you keep farming. Next season starts, you can’t earn paragon until 50, for you earn 2 more points from 50 to 60. Now you are at 212. It was not a change made with seasonal play in mind. It is geared towards Eternal realm players. Every paragon point earned the xp needed for the next goes up exponentially currently.

Yes that is what this means.

One time you will have to level the paragon to full, then never worry about it again.

This can change based on feedback in the PTR…I’m gonna guess it probably will as even one time it is really slow right now. And most of the feedback implies people don’t like how slow it is.

And I can guarantee after people grind to do this, blizzard will change this and you will have to do it all over again. It’s no different than what they have done with gear in S4 - S6. They make things fun then decide no, let’s start over. Yearly I can see this happening, but every season is just insane. On seasonal it’s not as big a deal as that is the game play loop. But on eternal it is down right pointless. They may as well do away with eternal and make the whole game seasonal only. It would at least set a direction rather then constantly confusing and annoying a part of their player base every few months.

Honestly I would not mind them changing that, if they lowered how long it took significantly.
It feels like they are trying to find a happy balance…but one may not exist.

They want to make top tier power hard to get to…yet they don’t want alts to have to strive for that? That makes little sense in either realm.

Yeah I am not a fan of the constant changes either. It feels more like they are trying to SHOW they are doing a lot, but just moving numbers around and shifting the burden onto the player to re-do the same boring stuff.
