I have been trying to install Diablo 4, but instead it pops up a window with a spinning logo that never ends. I tried other games (like Starcraft) and it would prompt an install directory and such, but for D4 it just gets stuck on spinning logo.
I read on the topic from past posts which all revolves around anti virus, firewall, run as administrator, etc. but none of those are an issue for me. I tried disabling firewall and it didn’t change anything.
Only thing I didn’t try is updating battle net because I just downloaded and installed battle net, and so it’s already the latest version.

I am in the same situation.
Here are other things I tried, but I was still unable to install it:
• Reinstalling the Battle.net application
• Logging out, changing the login region, and logging back in
• Attempting to install Diablo 4 from the Game Pass in the Xbox app
I have the same problem. Please help

i got the same problem…
Yea, I opened a support ticket, and apart from the canned response saying to reinstall battle net, restart the system, etc. nothing they said was helpful. The ticket also got deleted, so it makes me think the problem is not isolated and they are either tired of, or are instructed to ignore it.
I think the problem is Blizzard’s end, perhaps age restriction, or some other bug.
I even tried the beta version and nothing changes. What’s worse is I tried it on another computer and the same thing happens.
I’d include a screen shot but it doesn’t look like I can.
take screenshot(s)
upload to site like imgur.com
link the image back here by adding ` around the link
or the </> at the top of the reply post for Preformatted text
If I’m understanding this issue correctly… you’re trying to install Diablo through the Xbox Game Pass in the Xbox app that you’d install through the Microsoft Store?
That seems like it’s a Windows or Microsoft app issue to me.
Add as many screen shots of the issue as possible
The screenshots / images of the problem will hopefully help more
edit:
Googling a few things a lot of people mention turning off/disabling IPv6 on your network device and if it doesn’t work right away try a reboot after doing so.
same problem, stuck and spin
Worked for me out of nowhere, i didn’t fix anything. Check again guys
Anyone able to find a solution to this? I’m experiencing the same issue after just buying Vessel of Hatred. Feels bad paying $40 and not being able to install the darn thing.
I tried to include a screen shot but I’m told links aren’t allowed.
I’m not sure how to disable ipv6 in windows 11.
The issue is definitely on Blizzard’s end because I tried it on different computers, and the fact that someone had it work all of a sudden without any changes, tells me that it’s account specific configuration issue, that is likely not something the end user can do anything about.
Of course if you submit a support ticket they will deny it completely.
Edit: It worked now. Disabled ipv6 or something, restarted, and waited a bit long thinking it was going to be the same rigamole. Now I’m presented with the right options to install.
the screen shot thing works fine if you include the link to here with Preformatted text
or </> like i said in a post above… the icon is literally above where you’re writing your text.

Glad the IPv6 disabling worked for you.
For some reason, I’m not surprised that might cause a problem. Anyone else having issues and want steps to try these fixes:
Windows 11:
- Open the Settings page (gear icon)
- On the left click Network & internet
- In the window to the right, find the bottom choice that’s labeled "Advanced network settings and click
- Find your active network adapter. Its either Ethernet (for cabled connections) or Wi-Fi (for wireless connections)
- Click on it, it should expand or open up. Find “More adapter options” and click “Edit”.
- A box should pop up. In here find "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP-IP) and un-check it.
- Then click “Ok” at the bottom.
- Then restart Windows, using the Restart command, not shut down or sleep.
Windows 10:
- Windows key+R for the run command
- Type in the box the following:
Control
And press enter or click "Run
- Open Network and Internet
- Click on Network and Sharing Center
- Click on “Change adapter settings”
- Find the network connection you are using and right-ciick on it
- Choose properties
- A box should pop up. In here find "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP-IP) and un-check it.
- Then click “Ok” at the bottom
- Then restart Windows, using the Restart command, not shut down or sleep.
You can also use that method with 11.

IPv6 disabling method did not work
Disabling ipv6 did not work for me either. Trying to install other Battlenet games goes thru perfectly fine, only Diablo does not work.
Already reinstalled my OS (Windows 11 23H2) and the issue is still there. My internet is also fine. Disabling IPv6 also didn’t fix the issue. I highly believe that this is an issue with Blizzard’s end.
