One button more than one action is against ToS, it is hundred percent. But detection and enforcement is another topic. As those more than one button and action can be configured without using additional software like macros. Like the Steam client, hardware programmable controller etc… Banning users is not really effective nowadays since D4 is in Game pass. A streamer can have 20 accounts each cost 50 cent to run his D4 in any way he wants. Even the acc is banned in D4. he still can sell them as those acc can play other game.
The effective way to prevent any ToS violation is prevent the user who running unauthorized software from start the game. Like some Steam game has the EAC anticheat, and also many playstation game. You cant start the game at all if they detected a cheat software in your Windows.
Again it comes back to the enforcement part, Blizzard will not prevent users from join D4 via Steam, or users with Microsoft Game Mouse and Keyboard Centre and also Logitech G hub.
As this topic is about action that against ToS, I will not want to discuss further. I just suggest Blizzard to update their game and policy, to better to align with the current technology trend and its status as part of the subscription title in Xbox Game pass.
how so tho? i mean, anything that automates 2 or more key presses requires a software, even if its some logitech Ghub, etc.
thats impossible. Using Keyboard/mouse/Controller software obviously cant be restricted. using the options it offers can be tho, hence why its mentioned in the ToS. I play a few offline games where i for sure use macros at times. The software isnt a problem, or it running in the background. using its options inside d4 is.
here i agree btw. absolutely correct. In the end everyone is responsible for his d4 license as i said. If one uses macros tho, they shouldnt show up here with a “i got banned for nothing” thread tho - considering how many of these threads have been here in the past, i wonder how many of those did use macros and thought “its legit” ^^
Logitech G Hub is a software manage many part of the mouse include the LED light. It can remap your buttons as this mouse has 10 buttons, so G Hub is an essential software which no game can ban them from running. The macros is part of the feature in the G HuB, it is not an additional software so D4 client wont be able to tell you running it or not. You can map more than one button, you can even add delay to each button press. Certain game may detect you run macros if you press the same key at certain interval each time. If you add enough of delay then your button pressing will be like real person. D4 also cant tell if your macros is for playing D4, or you press a button to run Spotify while playing the game, maybe the key for run spotify just share the same key of your skill button. So enforcement is an issue for them to address.
Those get banned mostly like use Bot software, which talk directly to D4 client, and easy to get detected.
I want to stop here, talking about topic against ToS violate EULA. The first rule of Fight Club is Don’t Talk about Fightclub
I think the main reason some use Macros is for accessibility purpose. Like pick up excessive of junk loots to salvage. I usually leave them on floor as too much trouble to salvage them, but I run out of veil crystal now due to refuse to salvage.
Also those those playing basic skill need to continously press the skill button, as basic skill cost no resource and it will trigger cool down if you press it without release. You will get the typical gamer hand injury if doing this for long hours, so you may consider the accessibility features from G Hub. Most players using those against ToS features are not doing it to cheat, is more on QoL which currently not allowed.
It is common knowledge that Immortal sorc use macros. I think still same this season, for Firebolt sorc which I have not played yet. Wujido also briefly talk about Evade SB encountered issues in macros, he tried not to talk too much about that.
well, they also will have to deal with the consequences at the end of the day is all im saying. You do you. Accessibility gets used in a wrong way here btw. If you cant press many button in a fast manner, then arpgs might not be a game for you, or as someone else said, incase you are missing an arm, there is hardware for gamers to assist there.
nope, thats not common knowledge, as immortal sorc didnt need any form of macro.
anyway, as i said multiple times by now, you do you. dont try to justify macros tho.
nope, thats not common knowledge, as immortal sorc didnt need any form of macro
There will be a minor gap in your flameshield cast if you dont use macros, this could get yourself killed. Arcruied has explained this in his Immortal Firebolt build. As those immortal sorc play the build for competitive reason, I believe they do what ever they want to win in the PVE game.
and that is fine. their account license, their responsibility.
dont try to justify what -you- do by telling us what others do tho. doesnt lead anywhere. Its like saying “oh, that dude duped items and didnt get banned yet! i guess i can do that too!”
Well, I am not telling what to do and what others do. Is all up to a gamer’s discretion, whether QoL is important or the ability to continue play a 1.5 year old game is very important.
Like Rob2628 is showing the unusual speed of picking junk loots with his middle mouse scroll. He didn’t tell you what to do, but many are guessing what is behind the scene
He explained that can be achieved by binding the force interact to mouse wheel, but the speed of pickup I tried is much lower than his vid.
I can replicate his pickup speed in G Hub, the mouse wheel pickup one time when you scroll up and another time you scroll down. This is what limit the speed of picking junk loot. Unless Rob2628 finger flinching reach the level of the Flash
im sure you can achieve many things with macros =P
to add tho, “i think” mousewheel scrolls can be excluded, as long as a usual scroll is 1 action. thats just a rebinding basically and not a macro. a mousewheel of course can be used a lot faster than a key press.
This works natively for many skills in D4. Just Press and hold the right mouse. No clicking required. D4 supports skills like this in the Options tab for Controls.
Is your mouse wheel free spinning or do you have to keep moving it with your finger? Some logitech mice have a button you can push and the wheel will free spin. I had one. You can spin it ultra fast.
Here ye here ye!!! Dear filthy unwashed scoundrels, have a look at what im holding aloft. It is indeed my precious 1-button pointin device. Each of the buttons is complimented with an own 8k super-oled tiny screen.

Wrong, there are many controller with Auto toggle on and macro run on the controller itself without software include Thunderobot G50s and more.
Even some mouse has macros store in hardware memory chip, can run without any software like MSI CLUTCH-GM31 and many other brands.
Steam is not a just a software, is a platform you purchase the license to play a game. When you purchase a game from Steam, you are subject to ToS of Steam and also additional ToS from the game publisher i.e Blizzard if they have extra ToS. Steam allow customized input on controller for all games which include one button more than one action. Steam control the behavior of a game launch from Steam include when you need to patch it and any anti cheat feature all managed by Steam. It also manage the refund policy of a game license you purchase under steam.
