Please Note: This is just a Cliff Notes version of the Campfire. Please refer to the Campfire itself or the Patch Notes (to be released later this week) for further details. I will also include a link to the Q&A at the bottom.

PLEASE NOTE: Not all details were given during the campfire, please make sure to read the patch notes when they come out on Friday November 15th.

Mid-Season Patch will be available next week.

:thinking: CURRENT STATE OF THE GAME

62% of all players have played the Spiritborn
Spiritborn is performing better than other classes
Other classes are performing fairly well when compared to one another

What we need to balance:
Want players to feel strong and powerful and to feel like they can break the game
Want class parity in regards to power level

Will not be nerfing Spiritborn with the midseason patch

  • Will be making adjustments in S7 for SB (bug fixes) and other classes
  • If it impacts other players in regards to game performance these will be fixed as soon as possible

Buffing other classes in midseason patch, but it won’t be to the level of Spiritborns right now because the bugs are a big part of that power level



:muscle: CLASS BUFFS

Not everything listed of course, wait for patch notes

:crossed_swords: Barb Core Skill damage buffs

  • Upheavel, Hammer of the Anciets, Double Swing, Rend

Buffs to underperforming Legendaries and Uniques

  • Example: Battle-Mad Aspect gains increased damage AND Berserking for 4 seconds when weapon swapping.
     

:wolf: Druid buffs to ALL key passives

  • Examples: Lupine Ferocity (Crit and Injured damage), One with Nature (companion bonus damage)

Legendary and Unique Buffs

  • Example: Stormchaser’s Aspect Tornado will seek up to 1-5 targets AND deal increased damage
     

:skull: Necro buffs for all Basic skills, some skill tree Passive buffs

  • Examples: Decompose (damage, essence per second scales with attack speed bonuses)
  • Passive: Evulsion (increased damage to Vulnerable enemies)

Unique Buffs

  • Examples: Mortacrux chance to spawn Simulacrum increased
  • Howl from Below corpse explosion damage increased
     

:dagger: Rogue buffing core skills and key passives

  • Examples: Penetrating Shot, Flurry damage increased
  • Key Passives: Victimize, Precision damage bonus buffs
     

:fire: Sorceress Cold & Fire Buffs

  • Combustion - ‘additional 25%(x) of your Damage to Burning Enemies bonus’ (instead of per unique source of burning you have applied)
  • Avalanche - Lucy hit: Increase to chance of frost skills to cast another random frost skill, as well as increased damage against vuln enemies. (Lucky hit chance is no longer doubled against vuln enemies, so going from 10-20% to a flat 30% chance for this to proc based on lucky hit of course)
  • Aspect of Piercing Cold - Ice Shards pierce 10 times, dealing 4-10% more damage per subsequent hit. (Used to be pierce 3-19 times, dealing 25-5% less damage per subsequent hit)
  • Aspect of Charged Flash - After charged bolts hit enemies 30 times, next 3 casts of charged bolts become waves that pierce and critically surge upon impact (used to deal a set amount of critical shock damage)
     

:orangutan: Spiritborn Buffs to skills that have seen less success

  • Razor Wings - Increased damage, no longer has a short cooldown between casts
  • Withering Fist - Poison Damage increased, Slow increased, Sharp Withering Fist targets spread to, increased from 3 to 5
  • Toxic Skin all damage increased across the board including for its two passives enhanced and measured.

  • Examples:
    Moni Offering increased from 25 to 35
    Ahu 10 to 25
    Ceh Wolf Spirits are now always Unhindered


:shinto_shrine: Shrines
Artillery, Blast Wave, and Conduit Shrines will now deal more damage and scale with the player level + paragon level

  • One time boost to level 50 including gear for a specific build
  • Unlocks all of the altars of Lilith
  • 1 boost for owning the base game, 1 additional boost if you own VoH

I will start. They mentioned they did a good job, as every build is capable of handling the endgame 'Tormented 1". :rofl:

Edit: Alright, I know I might have taken it a bit out of context. What I meant is that, regardless of how you define endgame, it’s funny to hear them bring it up and then pat themselves on the back, saying they did a good job because every build can handle Tormented 1. That’s setting a really low bar.

They aren’t asking for feedback for mid season patch. They never do. This is just telling us what’s coming.

Game Launch strategy was way better :frowning:

Them trying to make it a choice between class parity and power fantasy is nonsense though.
Power fantasy and power creep are not the same.

Oh really? I got the impression from other folks that they are asking for feedback from us for this mid patch. I thought I saw some folks open up threads for Q&A and even in X or are they just imagining things that there will be room for feedback? Or am I just seeing things that don’t exist at all

so every season from now on we will see a handful of builds breaking the game and everyone is running this and the game is a snoozefest. And everyone who does not will feel like a dumhead for choosing to play a build where you need to hit a mob a zilion times more then others.

I kinda feel like there is a difference between letting a build slide for the season that has a bugged interaction… and then letting a whole class operate through the season revolving around half a dozen or so giant bugs.

It shouldnt even matter if they nerf or do not nerf in a season.
The mistakes happened before a season releases. Balance things better before then. Then there is nothing to nerf or not nerf afterward.

ofc people are upset when they find a bug they can explore and blizzard then fixes it.

That is called making a coherent game, not beeing the fun police.
