I really want to know by whoever actually sat down, had a discussion, and purposefully sat down, manually went and did changes to… Constricting tendrils node.
what the hell went on inside their head? Like, what was the reason of buffing it? When its probably the least used node in existence, for what purpose. Like no one can come up with a valid reason on why. Instead of spending time on anything else, of the 100 issues druid suffer from.
We are probably closer to solving space travel than knowing why this change to constricting tendrils was done.

Just make it not based on base damage, like it’s still a 15% LH, will it really get out of control? Same with Toxic claws, I really want to see a dev make a build that solely focuses on these abilities…

umm…literally the reason you just gave. It’s one of the least used nodes…so they buffed it.
Literally no one will use it still so was a waste of time. They need to understand why it’s not being used first before touching it.

Yea, the way they did it was terrible, but I was commenting on the reason they did it.
The real fix with poison creeper would be making its companion number and ravens companion number always apply to the aspect buff for each companion gain 37%x damage and not just when they pop up on the screen
The entirety of the Druid changes are negligible milqtoast garbage.
NOBODY ON EARTH has or runs or has bothered to make a Thorns based Druid.
DoTs are so underwhelming and weak in this game (except on Barbs and Necros of course) That NOBODY is making a Poison Druid build. Nobody.
People are generally sick of playing Pulverize and/or Trampleslide, and Werenado. It’s been the same builds since live we have been pigeonholed into…
…except now we have Windshear, which is the most boring build I have ever played on any ARPG ever. Stack pets. Apply Shepherd and Toxic Wind aspects. Spam left mouse button…Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz…
All they need to do is tweak some of our paragon nodes and glyphs and we would be just fine. They also need to combine the effects of many of the Aspects, since we need so many things to dip into to jack up our damage to remotely competitive levels.
But hey…glad they buffed THORNS, and Pulverize, and Poison a little…and doubled Gift of the Stag boon that literally not one soul on this planet uses…even AFTER the buff.
i used thorn stormwolf companion for afk farming and leveling
WS is poison build and is currently the only strong build for endgame. but yeah, rather boring and massively nerfed in s5 due to thunderstruck cap.
Are you running those RIGHT NOW in Pit 50+ ?
i got pretty much bored of the current state of druid before the patch went in. Anyway, couldnt do more than 200k with thorns so its pathetic for pit no matter what. If it gave thorns scaling with willpower or something to get at least 50k thorns then i would definitely play it.

There’s no way to make Thorns work for the druid…
…so why do we even have it? Why is it even taking up a boon slot?
You guys talking about thorns so much makes me worried they may take your advice on it, but not the way we all want. Watch them get all the negative feedback about the poor, neglected, thorns and decide to make completely useless druid thorns items that lock you into werebear… again.

So much potential with Druid having a plant theme to it with thorns as well. A Treant pet (like the Necro golem) that is a tank and has thorns. Giving thorns bonuses to the vine pet (each second the enemy is poisoned by the vine, it takes 100% of your thorns damage or something).
They have so much they could do here to make a cool plant/thorns caster druid, but…this team.
I think they have some serious creative deficiencies.

No it makes no sense!!! Every season I make a rabies druid for SnG. This could add to our poison damage, but neither rabies nor poison creeper are nature damage to proc this!!!
We have all the poison glyphs and poison skills. Then there’s this sitting on the outside of our bubble.
Make rabies nature damage!! Animals in nature can spread rabies. Poison creeper too. It’s nature. It’s a vine!!!

That doesnt make any sense. But did you see the puff to thorns dmg spiritboon?
Yeah. I see what that one guy was saying about a thorn minion. That could actually be neat, but then what stats do we want to focus?
They would need to start to do conversions where other stats convert to thorns.
Same issue with poison. The only available stats to boost poison is DoT, specific skill tempering, and willpower.
We could do a shred or tornado build that crit to spread poison, but then our stats are spread so thin that we aren’t getting the benefit of anything. Unless poison dots started to scale off of crit or began to crit themselves. They could treat poison like tuning a PID. Crit and crit damage could either boost power or duration or some of each, but this is all wishful thinking. What they will change or won’t. Who knows… and are they reading any of this? If they are, is any of this on their radar?
