I’m lv.100 on my necro, and I am not ashamed to admit I’m using a good build I looked up from another player. Suppressor is pretty much the affix I hate the most. I crush any NM sigil with suppressor on it at the enchanter but it’s no guarantee it won’t show up anyhow. If I’m running a NM of 75 or greater and a suppressor combined with Fire Enchantment on an elite, I’m usually properly stalemated at that point and I either have a massive repair bill or just give up and quit.
Any suggestions on how to cope with this solo? It’s very frustrating.
I run Bone Storm, which takes care of Suppressor. I run in with Bone Storm and get in the hits with the added damage reduction and Barrier.
Many understimate that Barrier Aspect. It’s so good that I moved to 100% Storm uptime, and clear NMD 80s. My Necro is 84 currently.
Bone Storm also works with Blood Mist (but the damage of course, is terrible). The advantage though, is offering 3 sec of invulnerability if you absolutely need it or to build up a Barrier again.
Not really sure you are serious. I am 90ish and have a hard time with NM40+. Not sure how you can run NM80 where mobs are probably 50+ levels on you. There is a system in place to diminished your damage , damages reductions, armors, and resistances (6+ on you) With the current density, if you don’t clear them fast enough, they would 1-2 shot you easily.
Then onto Necromancer, you either be defensive and have unlimited cooldown on mists, and storm, or you are all out DPS like Bonespear, or you can slot a hybrid which I’d so so in clear and kill speed. Neither of those can take care of 10+ mobs and suppressors , unless it is pure Bonespear, with the utmost gears specs which don’t happen that easy
Suppressors is more like being bugged. It always absorbs the spears, which it shouldn’t. The spears should bounce back outward if you are outside and inward if you are inside, period. It sucks that Necro spears when doesn’t return, would cut necro DPS in half or more than half, which is ridiculous once you factor in high tier NM, a clusters of suppressors can stand together like 4 of them, and there is no way to Jill them quickly. Especially if they run around and around with couple other mobs and CC elites
Yeah, I realized that you trolled me before, because I spent 20-30 millions to respec and did nothing close to what you said. Therefore, I don’t believe you, and you are just trolling
Butcher ? Butcher is nothing with my proper build and that is Bonespear. I am in hardcore, and if I could not take on butcher, I wouldn’t be in the 90. You are the one I am sure that can’t take butcher in HC. But whatever my friend. If it make you feel good, keeps trolling
The problem is when Spear hits the outer bubble while you’re in it the shards won’t proc because the bubble eats the Spear. If you can get a Suppressor mob up against an object or wall while the bubble edge is outside of it shards spawn and bounce into it off the object/wall. This is typically my go-to option.
Worst case, run past the mob and ignore it if possible. They’ll stop chasing you eventually.
And yes… It’s a bit of a pickle getting sufficient damage on Fire Elite Suppressors while lining up properly to avoid the fireballs. I find it’s sometimes better to yolo facetank some hits from the fire with defensive CD’s/potion spam and nuke them.
I’d note, Splintering Aspect was recently fixed. It’s conceivably possible you’re not only losing shards but also vulnerable application against that mob type (potentially other mobs too). Since shards satisfy the “target after the first” condition. Unless you swapped to Supernatural Bone Spear or applied vuln via another method.
Yes, this is exactly what I noticed. Splinter no longer apply vulnerable to the first primary target. You will need to swap skill in order to also apply vulnerable to primary target. This is really the only way to take care of suppressors. But the hardest thing is when 3-4 of the suppressor are clustered together…… it gets very very messy. Sometimes with a bunch like that, try lining up against a wall and you will face. Hit boxes issues. That is when you run like hell , LOL!
Blizzard shadow nerf a lot of stuff, which is a shame and embarrassing
Well, evidently if you Spear a single, isolated target the spear hits and counts it as the first target hit. Thus, no vulnerable application. When a shard spawned from that spear bounces back into the target it’s counted as another target. Even though it’s the same mob. So the shard will apply vulnerable to it. I guess shards spawned off spears are classified as Bone Spear’s primary attack. Even though they’re separate instances of damage.
At least, this is how I understand it.
The point being you can still take Paranormal Bone Spear over Supernatural. You just have to maximize shard bounces better, wait for them to bounce back into the first target hit by a spear cast or apply it via another means.
I mentioned it specifically in regards to Suppressors because without properly baiting them you won’t get shards. If you’re not getting shards and still rely on them for vuln, whether knowingly or not, the importance of that bug fix will be magnified.
That isn’t particularly common. Unless you’re doing NM’s with the Suppressor affix. I don’t normally do NM’s with the Suppressor affix (salvage). They’re not worth the headache. I’d highly recommend steering clear of them.
In any case, a Group of Suppressors boils down to doing the same thing on a bigger scale. Alternatively, splitting them up and dealing with each one piecemeal. If possible anyway.
you’re right that supressor is indeed bone spear’s nemesis. The only way to deal with it is to lure it to a wall and pray that your bone spear will be deflected by the wall to annihilate the mobs in 2s while corpse tendril-ed.
So in a nutshell, I will always salvage suppressor sigil unless I’m desperate to clear a dungeon with that affix like what I’ve recorded in my video below.
And yes, I only do tier 100 NM anyways, so you should be able to use me as a reference point for bone spear necro.
Anything below tier 80 NM, shouldn’t be a problem with that being said as monsters hit you a lot less harder and you will be able to animation cancel while dodging their attacks in the bubble. Even without deflect mechanics in placed, you will most likely be able to kill it with bone spear spamming.
Lol!! They hurt a hell lot to you, almost 1-2 shot you most of the times ! Very satisfying clip! Thanks for the nice clip. How did your energy refreshed so quickly ?
Thanks for the nice words Anyways I’m stacking Resource Aspect of Exposed Flesh and Resource Aspect of Torment to keep my essence pool healthy. Both are high rolled, to be specific 48 / 162 roll on each of them.
OP is higher level than me and doing higher NM dungeons than I’ve attempted.
My strategy for Suppressor is to just run inside at close range and tank with Bone Storm up. Even large packs with suppressor and fire bosses are easy with Bone Storm. I use Lidless Wall so Bonestorm is up almost the entire time in a dungeon run.
I’m not sure if this strategy will continue to work at level 100 in NM75 dungeons. I suppose I will find out.
I keep changing builds cause i get bored easily and like to modify builds i’ve already played to see if i can improve them so basically :
yes suppressor is irritating for BS, the best way i’ve found to clear them is either pop bone storm , go in and reap and tendril then shotgun them down (u dont even need the shards to bounce if u have enough dmg), or blood mist in and position yourself in a way then tendril will gather all of them, then kill them when they’re stunned. that’s wat i use for higher tiers including t100, but obviously your gear /para needs to be up to par to be able to kill asap.
Yes bone prison is useless against butcher, the way to kill butcher as an infinimist + mendeln build or just pure infinimist, is to get him into mobs and he’ll melt from the aoe dmg when u kill the mobs. i figured that out the first time i met butcher after switching to infinimist.
Finally, it’ll be the best if one actually understands the build they’re playing because then they’ll be able to work out solutions on their own just by playing, rather than needing to ask questions and then judge others.
I am murdering NM50+ right now with a level 85 pure Summoner Necro on Eternal. (Shadow-based; I spam cast Blight with the cc Aspect, which is OP. I also have almost 100% up Bone Storm due to Minions having my Thorns plus Decrepify + cdr.
I doubt it. I never bother to try with any of my Alts. Too boring. Takes too long and no rewards worth it. If I hear him in time I just leave the dungeon to despawn him. If I can outrun him (e.g with my Sorcs), I do so, and despawn him once I am a few screens away. Otherwise, I just let him kill me to get rid of him asap.
As far as my 85 Summoner goes, I never die to anything else really, so he’s just pure inconvenience. Lose 1 revive or waste 5 mins kiting that idiot? No choice at all.
