Game is still in beta as far as I’m concerned without an overlay map. Who tf wants to play HC without a proper map?? HURRY UP. This QoL shouldve been available on release.

But yes I and MANY OTHERS want an overlay map for obvious reasons. Pointing out that I want QoL in some weird larp speak doesn’t take us away from reality.
It should have already been a feature since launch.
This isn’t a fantasy in anyone’s head. People usually ask for features already available in other games and that are considered as standard features of the games in this genre.
Nobody just made up the concept of an overlay map in their head. This existed in the very game of this franchise in from 20+ years ago.
Stop trying to gaslight people, like your masters over at Blizzard, for wanting normal stuff. No one is a child for wanting basic stuff, nor is anyone making stuff up in their head. People want reasonable things. Stop trying to impute blameworthiness, or try to make it out to be that someone’s crazy for wanting an overlay map in a Diablo game.
No one is asking Blizzard to implement an unheard idea, some novelty inside their head, but simply implement what has already been invented in gaming and is considered basic.

Overlay should definitely be a feature in dungeons as it would make navigation there much easier. From mid to late game we spent most time in dungeons. Opening and closing the somewhat opaque map right now and being blind for a second is not a good design choice. In open world I am slightly indifferent. So far the map marker works well to find my way around. I wouldn’t mind having overlay as an option though.
This is not something in one guys head. It exists in the head of everyone who is a fan of the francise.
If the industry worked the way it should and the devs where fans , it would have just hapened months before release. … almost like magic

OP’s ask is not outrageous by any stretch of the imagination considering that most arpgs do overlay maps.
Personally, I was kind of shocked when I first started playing and there was nothing but this dinky map in the corner.
Too many QoL features that were present in the past have been stripped from this game.
I don’t know why but I can only speculate that they plan to introduce them them later on as “improvements”.

I brought those particular examples in because multiple posts have stated the same thing you have, they want those features now, they don’t want to wait, they want Blizzard to drop what they’re doing and get right on it.
I’m all for Map Overlay as I stated previously, but there’s a right and wrong way to ask for it. You instead demand it in your original post, acting very juvenile, like a child who lost their toy. I see a temper tantrum in your original post, I don’t see some one giving a lot of feedback in a civil manner on a much wanted QoL feature.
I think they should remove the map altogether, the game offers well presented level design with landmarks to orient yourself.
people should be able to find their way around organically instead of navigating with their eyes glued to a map
I strongly disagree, with that logic it would sound as if you want to get rid of Waypoints as well, because after all why would we need them to get around with well presented level design and landmarks?
