🤦‍♂️ Blizz Dev's why is so hard to fix this?

  • Third party RMT sites listings ingame chat
  • Bots ingame hordes
  • Dupes selling ingame trade
  • Exploit trading ingame

Is that hard?
Or you simply don’t want to do it?

Please let us know…

PS: You know who the “players” are, right from the begining game registry…

They can’t even fix the infernal hordes display to let you know which horde level you are on. It would appear it is hard for them to fix or do anything.

It actually is that hard, this is why these types of issues exist in every online ARPG I can think of. PoE, who many see as the gold standard, has these issues as well.

You answered your own questions there.

More than likely it would be too costly in some way and they are benefitting from it so there is no desire.

It is stupid to let it go like it is. Doing nothing about is being complicit with it.

Its not about hard… its about huge amounts of moneyz involved. Big Business.
If a game-company consider to take not part in it, quickly the gentlemen of the gaming-currency & item Yakuzas will knock on the door :ninja:

Aint nobody got enough HP for that.

if i were the dev, i would definitely have the skill to create and run those black markets.

now, if i were the dev, i could simply manipulate the ingame mythic and GA nerfs so the mats needed to grind those boss runs become popular RMT trade commodities.

but the scale of this business is too huge. i could not operate alone unless i and my team got the blessing from the chief.

if and only if. LOL.

That is not a highly requested change like the BP system upgrade to reliquaries.

If it were an easy fix, no game would have RMT.

If people weren’t addicted to taking the easiest route to things in online games, these giant bot farms wouldn’t exist.

You want RMT gone? Change fundamental human behavior.

Sadly as long as open trade exists so do credit card warriors. RMT will not go away as long as money can be made.

Could blizzard do more? Unsure because even when they cripple an entire farm they are up and running a week later. We dont necessarily know now many accounts get banned but we know when they do massive ban waves.

I remember watching an interview where they talked about banning people and they had a wall of them QQ they were banned and the stories they told as throphies.

Honestly it’s because the internal systems present in D4 are just poorly written crap code.

If Blizzard had properly tracked data arrays for their items they’d ALWAYS know where an item comes from and Warden would be able to track when an item was created and it’s lifetime until it’s sold or dismantled. If an item appears that isn’t tracked that means someone dupe glitched - which is a primary source of items for RMTs.

As for stopping RMT altogether…it’s possible but very, very hard without creating big QoL issues and Blizzard can’t seem to understand that if you multiply multipliers then the game becomes about stacking those multipliers because additive damage is CRAP compared to multiplicative…what’s the chance they’d create an elegant solution to RMTers?

It’s 0.

Rmt is never going away because rmt sites are not illegal and therefore the only thing blizzard can do it ban people for using rmt which they have been doing

Bots have existed in nearly every game anyone has made

As for dupes I don’t know anything about coding or about d4’s code so I’m not qualified to answer that and that goes probibly most people on this forum

As for your forth point I don’t know what you mean you statement is to vague

Trade should be limited to only people that were in the same group when it dropped, and time limited to one hour after drop.

Tbh ideas that punish the player base that aren’t doing shady things for the sins of those that are would be considered bad ideas

If blizzard would have made diablo 4 fully offline RMT would not exists as people could play diablo 4 how they want and cheat if they needed to finish out a build. But blizzard cares about the Shop and you spending money there that’s it.

Diablo 3 didnt have RMT but had Bot services that all the top clans like ZE Clan used.

Fixing RMT wont fix the botting issue

and you even support this by purchasing d4

exactly. even with closed trading rmt exists. a simple search even lets you “purchase d3 items”. Of course we are talking about a farming service here tho.

And why should i fix it?
It’s not my code, it’s Bli$$ dev’s code…
They should fix it, not me…

Did i say that?
Where?
Or are you just “putting words in my posts”???

I’m not the OP, but I’ll take a stab:

  • Put in at least a token effort to patch out duping glitches.
  • Shotgun ban or suspend anyone at max obducite.
  • Have dedicated team who’s sole responsibility it is to comb through streams and trade sights looking for dupers and ban them. The worst offenders are obvious.
  • Actively enforce their own EULA.
