I was doing a pit run and got the top left notification that it was attempting to reconnect to the server … finished my run … left the game and it immediately logged me out. Battle.net appears to be down … and if I restart the game client it gives an error message and closes the game client?

Same. Some sort of server login issue. Down Detector has plenty of reports as well. #queue the jeopardy music

They confirmed on battle.net app that it’s a DDoS attack currently. Thanks people who want to ruin a night of gaming.

Right!! I don’t get a ton of free time either … was looking forward to putting some time in. I’ve never understood DDoS attacks on video games lol

DDoS on gaming companies are kinda funny. Like what’s the end goal? It’s not like they are taking out some government or financial entity.

DDoS Attacks are also an attempt to gathering player data while the company is looking somewhere else. >.> Think a bit deeper here than the surface level of “I can’t play” and maybe “Oh snap, they have some data I don’t want them having now”

That only works if they have penetrated though. A DDoS by nature doesn’t require breaching the network. So if they haven’t, its not a good distraction. It could CREATE a way in, but most modern services and applications can counter this.
You’re not wrong, but the amount of DDoS attacks recently is a little concerning.
Let’s see how many others will jump on the forum to say they cannot login. Even after Battlenet says that it is offline.

I want to close the game and go sleep now but I got some pretty decent equipments. Is it safe to exit the game, or should I keep waiting?
