Go in Add/Remove Programs, find C++ Runtime (could be many diff vers), click on it (each one), and do a repair.

Reboot PC and try again.

Repaired both, rebooted. Still same error. :frowning:

I am having the same issue here on my PC. I tried to reboot, uninstall, update drivers, etc and still wont load Diablo 4

Any suggestions on how to fix this

I moved the igxess.dll file out of the folder and the game launched. Will it be an issue down the road? Who knows.

Hi all. I have the same problem. I moved the folder igxess.dll that Shau suggested. And it DOES load. However, it lets me start and constantly crashes when I get to the first way point. Has anyone else moved this file and was able to play past this?..or is everyone crashing at this point?

I have tried both suggestions and still having the same issue and not able to play the game. Any other suggestions would be greatfully appreciated. I have been waiting a long time to play and bought early so I could play and it seems like I am still having to wait. Please Help!

I am having the same issue tried deleteing the file was able to launch, but then crashed when i was logging in. Blizzard Please help!

I removed the igxess.dll file and the game launches. But crashes before I really get anywhere.

Obviously, it’s the igxess.dll file and removing it only takes the game so far, before it’s needed again and crashes.

Blizz please fix.

Search “C++ runtime” and install, can’t post link in this reply.

Did not work for me I uninstalled all the C++ and reinstalled. Still same error.

is the igxess.dll corrupted? is that why we should remove it from the file? removing the dll, is that deleting it completely?

I MOOVE (not delete) the igxess.dll each time, it works fine, but it’s slightly annoying to have to do that i also have an error message saying that my cpu will struggle idk if that’s linked but whatever, please Blizz fix

I did everything mentioned here + filed a bug complaint with blizzard. nothing but crickets.

Same error.
Diablo IV.exe - Bad image.
D:\GAMES\Diablo IV\igxess.dll
You can delete igxess.dll but it will download again through launcher.

Reinstall my uhd730 drivers on the latest 2022.nov.03 version and stiil get this error.
Now i just ckick 3-4 times on the error screen “OK” and wait …and game loads!
But this is an absurd. No one knows how to fix it, nor microsoft, nor intel, nor blissard.
