Same error. Un/Reinstalled Diablo multiple times, checked graphics drivers.
Moved igxess.dll out of the folder, which allowed me to START Diablo, but couldn’t get passed the character screen.
Please help Bliz, lotta money we paid for this game & can’t even enjoy it.

Exactly as above. Moving it out of folder allows game to start, but crashes at character screen with a Fenris error.
Would be great to get a response to this issue or a heaven forbid an actual fix.

Hi,
It seems like there’s an issue with your Intel integrated graphics drivers. Do you guys have Iris Xe or more recent IG ?
Try to update them using the Intel Driver Support Assistant website.

Can’t promise anything.
But can I get you guys upload your full FenrisDebug.txt from your Diablo IV folder somewhere and post links ?
I’ll see what I can suggest looking at the FenrisDebug file.
I updated both graphics cards directly through each manufacturer’s program. Not through windows OS.
Went to Nvidia and Intel for direct updates and now the game is working properly.

that worked. DL’ed Nvidea Geforce Experience & launched the game from the Nvidea app & it’s actually working.

To anyone having the issue, try deleting the LocalPrefs.txt in your folder Diablo IV in your user documents. Worked for me.

Got the same problem, and it was a serious inconvenience, and I’m trying to be nice here.
Had to update graphics card drivers and wait for the system to reboot, etc., only to find out the game wouldn’t launch. Restarted, fully shut down and turned back on, 2 scan and repairs, a full uninstall and reinstall.
Still nothing.
Came back a few days after sending a report of the problem, still no fix

I have the same issue. I downloaded the display adapters driver from Nvidia and Intel website. And now the game works.
I have the same issue and have tried every single one solution from different website and finally it worked by download the intel integrated graphic driver and installed it. You should find your graphic card name from device manager and find the driver for your graphic card on intel website and download it. You can install the Intel Arc Control so you can easily find the right driver. Good Luck!
After suddenly developing this issue today with the igxess.dll, the solution I found that worked was to uninstall my Intel UHD graphics card from Device Manager, with ‘attempt to uninstall drivers’ ticked and then reinstall drivers. I didn’t actually reinstall drivers as it automatically updated the drivers to the latest ones once I uninstalled the old drivers.

Yesterday i was playing fine, today diablo 4 updates out of nowhere and it puts this error, tried unistalling mid nvidia UHD, removing the config file on /user/documents/diablo4, opening it with nvidiagforce xperience, repairing uninstalling and intalling microsoft visual C++, unistalling the game, repairing mi pc from a point at yesterday 10 am… nothing works, seraching from reddit etc it seems that its only happening to laptop users and it has to be something in the game because all other things works fine on my pc
